Captain Neon Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 In 1945, Plymouth did a print ad at Christmas-time that had a happy couple (presumably husband back from the war) looking out their window next to their Christmas tree at the freshly shoveled driveway (presumably just completed by husband) with a sign on garage door in big red letters stating, "Reserved for Our New Plymouth." There is an other ad, that was the follow-up with same driveway with new P-15 in driveway. Caption stated, "How right we were to wait for a Plymouth!" Does any body have a high-quality scan they would care to share? If the price is not outrageous, would like to purchase said ad to display in our home @ Christmas, otherwise the scan alone would be much appreciated. Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 I do have the "How right we were to wait for a Plymouth!" ad in perfect condition. I would gladly share a scan of the ad, or.... how much are you willing to donate to the forum if I send it to you? Quote
Captain Neon Posted September 26, 2010 Author Report Posted September 26, 2010 I've got the whole rest of the series coming my way soon, they've been in storage in Minnesota since I was a teenager. When they finally arrive, and my scanner is big enough, I'll scan the whole lot for everyone's enjoyment, but I would be willing to donate $30. I'm not sure if Kinko's will scan an old advertisment like that due to copyright issues so I don't want to make a promise I may not be able to keep. Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 26, 2010 Report Posted September 26, 2010 I have both full page ads, I can send them to you, you scan them, then send them back to me. PM me with your mailing address if you would like to go this route Quote
Tony_Urwin Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 I can't speak for GT, the moderator of this site, but it would be great if we had a link for old Mopar ads. I have a number of ads that I could share, and I would love to see some of the other advertisements. Really a trip back in time. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Here are some of the Plymouth Christmas images.... Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 27, 2010 Report Posted September 27, 2010 Robin, Thanks for sharing, I have the three left to right, now I'll have to locate the one on the far right Quote
Ernie Baily Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 About 2 years ago I used the one on the left as the basis for my Xmas Card. I had a buddy photshop my family and car into the ad and put Santa behind the wheel like he was going use it instead of his sleigh. My whole family really loved it. Quote
1940plymouth Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Ernie, Can you post of copy of the Christmas card? Quote

48P15Annie Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Very cool Christmas card, Ernie!!! Wish I could do somethign similar. I don't have Photoshop. Quote
Don Jordan Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 It's kind of interesting: back then when they spoke of a 1 car garage that's all you got. I have what's called a 2 car garage and I can only get one car in it. I have some ads I got a while ago - if I can figure out how to copy them I will post them. Quote

RobertKB Posted October 4, 2010 Report Posted October 4, 2010 Plymouth Christmas ads. I tried to arrange them so that it tells a story. Thanks for arranging them. They make for a cute story. It also makes you realize that they really were new cars and highly sought after once upon a time. Quote
