P-12 Tommy Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Anybody here know of a shipper or a freight company that can get parts to me from Pennsylvania. I have a friend I buy parts from and he's been having trouble with Fedex (parts showing up broken or don't make it) and I'm hoping somebody here can steer me in the right direction. I want to get a set of "hood to fender" panels shipped down here to Florida for a decent price. Thanks in advance, Tom Quote
Frank Elder Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Try greyhound Tommy, I've shipped car doors with them before and they are reasonable. Quote

48ply1stcar Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Greyhound! yes I had four fenders, a hood and trunk lid shipped from PA to MN and it was very resonable. Quote
claybill Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 with greyhound, try to find the simple straight thru, bus route, so they dont have to switch cargo to different busses. might have to drive to a city but worth it. bill Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted August 13, 2010 Author Report Posted August 13, 2010 First off, thanks guys for the info. For the heck of it I first tried freightquote.com and to ship a 30 lb piece would cost between $170.00 to $850.00. No way!! Greyhound will ship dirt cheap. Around $75.00 for 60 lbs. Only problem is he doesn't have a Greyhound terminal where he lives, so I gotta explore other alternatives, unless I can talk him into dropping it off in Pittsburgh.(He lives in Valencia). The reason I'm getting these pieces is the lower part of my grill shell was damaged and mickey moused together and I found the fender panels are pop riveted to the grill shell, per PO. I've got a mint grill shell and stainless I bought a few years ago and haven't got around to installing it yet. Just wanted to get all the parts together before I start on this. All I want is to get these parts shipped. Tom Quote

Reg Evans Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 I've shipped fenders and bumpers I've sold on eBay with UPS and never had an item lost or damaged. Greyhound would be good but they are too far from me. Quote
Fireball Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 USPS is the cheapest to overseas, although they have limits to sizes. Should work within the country as well? http://postcalc.usps.gov/ Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted August 14, 2010 Author Report Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks Fireball, I'll check with them as well. Tom Quote
