Does anyone have a photo of a Deluxe Airflow heater. The one I am working on was painted several times. The part I need clarification on is the stainless band. How is it detailed, painted? The body color was a silver-brown hammertone. Thanks.

Here's a MoPar Model 65 Truck Master heater with the duct in the back for the fresh air heater. The truck heaters I've seen were painted a maroon color with a silver circle in front.

Does yours look like this MoPar Deluxe ? I have seen these painted the silver/brown color. Can you post a photo of yours ?

Thank you for the pictures but neither are the one I'm working on. I will try to post a picture of it . It has a flat stainless (?) band accross the front about 1/3 third down from the top with another band attached in the middle of the first bar and going straight down the front. The wording is embossed in the bands. Tom

Here's another version of a heater that's in my rig...a "Mopar 70". Not sure if this is the one you have, Tom, but I'd guess chances are slim since there's no stainless on this box (if there's stainess on yours, it's probably polished). But it's an interesting unit that someone put in mine long ago because this California truck never came with a heater in the first place, as the firewall hasn't been punched out for one. (Maybe a new transplant from the midwest or east coast came out here and bought a truck, and didn't think he'd need a heater in CA...only to find out that it indeed gets cold in the winter!!!)

Anybody know what a Mopar 70 goes in? I got 2, and one is up for grabs right now if someone wants it.

I just got a truck master heater from Mr. Van Note through ebay and plan on putting that in, along with the fresh air kit aquired from Reg a few months back. All that's still needed are control cables and switches.

Here is a picture from my 1950 (B-2-C). It is the same heater that John has. My truck was purchased and lived in CA all its life. I know that heater was in the truck since at least 1963 when I have my first memories of the old beast. I don't think it was an add on heater. The 49 ton and a half we have has a square heater more like the picture Reg posted. Both trucks were purchased in CA and have belonged to our family since they were new.

My 50 and 51 1 ton looks nothing like any of those heaters? My question is where are the hoses to the "defrost" supposed to go? I can't see anywhere where the hose was attached that came off..just looks like it came off the side of the heater/fan box and went up into the dash area, but I have no openings in the dash for air to come through.

They didn't make it come through the fresh air vent did they? Feeding Outside?

Your trim molding at the bottom of the windshield should have a pair of raised areas next to the glass. Defrost air comes through in those areas. You can't see the vent slots in the dash without pulling the molding.

I'll add the Mopar 70 doesn't fit snugly under the dash. Someone drilled mounting holes through the firewall above the gutter on the outside, and the holes for the water tubes were drilled through the upper left corner of the firewall, if you're facing it from the engine side. The bolts are long as the back of the unit doesn't fit within the flat area of the firewall on that side.

I'm not a big fan of the heater-mounted defroster control knob either, since it's hard to reach while driving, especially at night. The defroster don't work that well, either!

My 48 has the square one but the defrost is worthless the hoses are new, the 51 parts truck had a different style, the one I am trying to identify, not yet pictured. The fan motor has a blade and a squirrel cage, the cage ducts to the defrost directly. I tried to post a picture but had no luck, I will try again later. It may not be a Mopar part but it fit well.

As I remember the heater part worked well for my truck, but the defroster wasn't so good. When I took the hoses out though, they were all shot. They might have been that way when I was driving it 30 years ago for all I know. My heater fits nicely and it sure seems to me that it is original with the truck. The heat hoses go through two holes that had pop outs in them. Anyway, the heater is on the list of things to fix. Where can I get a new motor or get the old one fixed?

It's 72 up here today - a little nicer than the beach down yonder....but still, Gorebal warming was cancelled this year in California.

The one I have looks like the second type. It's from the Bob (Slick) and Maryanne Slickenmeyer's parts truck that they named "Clorissa". I think it may have been a 1950 3/4 ton (not sure). It can't be from my truck because the firewall punch-outs are still intact. Based on the current weather Southern California is going be the new Wisconsin and vise versa, so I think I'd like to have it powder-coated, re-assemble, and install it. Should it fit my 51 B3B with no problem? I think i'll need to do a parts inventory on the unit because I don't think I have it all.
