John-T-53 Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Lookin' good bud. Looks like you're using 2x6's or 8's for the bed floor. This bed will be able to take a hell of a beating when you git-r-dun. Dogs and old pickups go hand in hand. Cats will probably jump out, and (roosters), well not sure....haha. Quote
DollyDodge Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Nice job on the bed. I agree dogs and trucks go together. The attached picture is of my old (16 years) dog Thiebault in our B-1-HA getting ready to go for a ride in one of the trucks first drives in 25 years (taken in April) Quote
carls 49 Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 nice job, should last forever. can never have to much security. Quote

HanksB3B Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 John-T-53,when I am working in mine Dodge this rooster is all the time nearly wanting to help me. If it weren't someone else...Fernando, why don't you leave the wife at home grab the rooster and head on down to Ipanema once the truck is finished ? Hank Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 14, 2010 Report Posted June 14, 2010 Hank,Ipanema I went in 1975-1978 when I lived in Resende-Rio de Janeiro.I studied four years in Agulhas Negras Academy, same as West Point.Did you like WWII history.I like more history.Ah.... today I painted the DODGE name in tailgate.Tomorrow I send you a pic. Reg Evans Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 thank you, it is also a cheaper alternative. its about 2" taller this way, if you didnt notice How will you bolt the fender bottoms to the running boards if the bed is 2" taller ? Maybe you should have notched the 4 x 4's ? Quote
Dave72dt Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 How will you bolt the fender bottoms to the running boards if the bed is 2" taller ? Maybe you should have notched the 4 x 4's ? His running boards are long gone and he's replaced them with 2 x4s. I'd guess a short piece of angle iron would do the trick. Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 I painted my tailgate name Dodge with red spray. Quote
41/53dodges Posted June 21, 2010 Author Report Posted June 21, 2010 looks great man! im not painting mine, not yet anyways... Quote
HanksB3B Posted June 21, 2010 Report Posted June 21, 2010 How did you get the lines so straight? Is there a difference in the size of the stamped letters "DODGE" between South American and US tailgates.? Your's look bolder than mine. Hank Quote
Fernando Mendes Posted June 22, 2010 Report Posted June 22, 2010 I did with insulating painting tape.Mine is Canadian, not South America.I believe that there is no Dodges from South America.I have a pic here in my archive with the letters very thin, but I couldn't send to you(1,37MB).You can do the letters thin or thick Quote
