55 Fargo Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Hey all, I only have 1 B pillar grab strap, but am not sure how it mounts. I know where it mounts, there is a hole with 2 screw holes, 1 over and 1 under. But my grab strap has only 1 center hole in it's bracket. I must be missing something to attach this correctly to my B pillar. Here is a pic of the grab strap.........Fred Quote
48P15Annie Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Never seen a grab strap like that before on a P15. Is it custom made? Quote
55 Fargo Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 Never seen a grab strap like that before on a P15. Is it custom made? My car is a 47 Chrysler C 38 Club Coupe, so maybe a little fancier trim. Any idea how they attach?..... Quote
48P15Annie Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 No. If I get a chance when I get home, I'll take a look at the one on the Plymouth if I can get the cap off. Quote
RobertKB Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Fred, I am surprised that a coupe would have those hold straps. My Dodge D25 coupe does not have them. I have a pair on ebay right now from a D25 sedan and they are the same as the P15. You can have a look at them but I don't think the Chrysler is the same, at least in any Chrysler sedans I have seen. I don't think what you have is from a Chrysler but I could be wrong. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270570146604&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Quote
Young Ed Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Good point Robert. My p15 coupe doesn't have them but the p15 4dr I parted did. Quote

So I do not need the grab strap in my car, great 1 less thing to worry about.....Fred Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Fred, That grab strap looks like the ones in my 35 Dodge sedan. Yours looks 30's to me. Quote
55 Fargo Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 It is similar, but yors has 2 screw holes to mount it. On the Chrysler grab strap, there is a little bracket that screws onto the pillar, then the grap strap slips over a stud, and a cap snaps onto it to hold it on somehow. That was how 1 48 Chrysler guy explained it Quote
48P15Annie Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 I looked on the Plymouth, only one screw holds it on...hope this helps...... Quote
