Man it's looking nice where your at! It's all cloudy and rainy here but early in next week should be good. Sharp looking truck you've got there.

OT means "Off Topic" It's a way of saying, "I have something I want to share, but it's not related directly to Pilot-house trucks."

by the way, love the pictures, especially the first one.

Nice photos Hank. I've always liked the purple ice plant. Can't grow it up here in Norther Calif. though. Great photo of your truck too so it's not really an OT post.

I'm hoping spring comes your way soon. I'm sure everyone up North and Northeast is tired of freezing fingers and itching to drive on clear roads.

Yesterday was the first time my wife and I were out of the city's stop and go traffic and on the open road so to speak. Knock on Horkey's wood, no oil is burning, no water is leaking, no brake fluid all over the tires. She fires right up cold or hot at 400rpm with the choke and throttle in. All 87hp is able to haul both of us up the steep twisty roads above Trumps Golf Course in third (3 on the tree) without missing a beat and down again just touching the brakes every now and then. It just doesn't get any better than this.

The thing I like most about our trucks is peoples reactions. Yesterday for example a Mercedes pulled up next to us with two perfectly dressed people. The guy got out and said "Love your truck". When we drove past a bunch of 6 and 7 year old boys on their way home from school, they all started to shout like they were in Disney's Cars and Mater just drove by, I think I heard one of them shout "Awesome Truck". When we got back to town and were parking, an older gentleman that may have been a farmer in a previous life walked up to the truck and said " A classic this is a very classic truck it's very classic" in an over the top enthusiastic manner.

A person shouldn't be allowed to have this this much fun and am thankful for everyones help here as well.

Hank

Spring is still on it's way up here. We've had temps in the low 50's this week with plenty of rain. There's very little snow left this afternoon, so it's starting to look like winter is nearing it's end.

Maybe I'll have a chance to finish up the last few details on my truck projects tomorrow and get it out for a "test drive". I fully understand the attention you got. That's part of the fun of getting out and driving the Ol' Dodge.

Nice shot of Catalina!

I got a couple thumbs up from two truckers on the 91 and the 110 today, but also a couple hi beam flashes from a Mercedes on my rear, followed by a swift pass on the right. I gave 'em the bird.

John,

Are you the member that is relocating to northern California? If so I thought you were going to stick to street driving and not take the freeways. I've been on the freeways when the speed limit was 55 but not lately. I have bigger tires than stock and I think today will drive with my GPS to see what I'm really doing. Before I take her on the freeway I've got to do some work to get the play out of the wheel and change my differential gearing. I would have liked to get together for a cup of coffee on your way up and get a look at your truck.

Hank, I'm already in San Luis Obispo and heading to the Bay Area today, for good. Unfortunately, for that distance, the freeway is the only option.

I've tried to find different gears but no luck...so I'm using what I got. I think after this trip I will focus on getting a different tranny in the truck to make the highway a better experience, both for me and the engine. If you're ever up north, stop by any time in my new town of San Mateo.

Glad somebody else asked that question, been wondering for years now what that meant. Didn't want anybody to think I was stupid Bill
