Plymouthy Adams Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 but...the POC is operating faster this evening than the P15/D24 forum... Quote
greg g Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Yea but whats there that is compelling? The 1 new post in the last three days. Quote
Guest P15-D24 Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 I've been watching it for a while but so far it seems pretty transitionary in length of delay. Problem is to step up to the next level of service level for the server the cost increases more than 10 fold per month. I would have to turn it into a full commercial site to offset the costs. So your patience is appreciated. Quote
randroid Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 GTK, While you're on the line, Sir, I'd like to propose an improvement. Not to the site because I think we all feel you've done a very nice job of keeping p15-d24 afloat, but as a little recognition from us for the hours and dollars and headaches and things you shouldn't have to mess with but you do. I've noticed that you've constrained yourself to climbing the same ladder as those of us who ride your train and rather than listing how many posts you've made how about using the infinity sign, or at least saying 'All Of Them'. So far as rank goes, there are always a lot of people who will know more than anyone else on a specific topic and since you're the senior person here how about a moniker nobody else will ever attain? "The Old Man" may or may not suit your personality but nobody's been here longer than you so it would fit. For now I'll simply ride with "Your WPC-ness" and see where that goes. -Randy Quote
LuckyDevil Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Maybe some are tired of comments like "Then you have no room to complain" "gotta pay to play" I have always heard of "Old Grouchy Mopar Guys" and I think I know where a few of them hang out. It is hard for a person to post a comment or ask a question then get ridiculed for doing so. Some of us don't have a magic checkbook that builds our car for us. (like a recent post) Some of us have to do it ourselves. Just because YOUR car is done, doesn't mean you are any better of a guy than the one with the rusty car that doesn't run. These are just a few reasons why the forum is not as active. MY $.02 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 GTK..it was only that one time for only a short spell..I figured server backlog the issue and pretty much figured it would be short lived..I did not look to see the activity at that time and see if the site had a unexpected amount of users. since then flying fast and high.. This one seems to be the most active, and in my opinion has the majority of "Old Grouchy Mopar Guys" Either do their way, or be wrong according to all the lemmings on here. That doesn't stop me from trying to get information out of it. And even post some new ideas once in a while that don't follow the normal procedure of one or three posters on here. The Old Plymouths Home web site is very very quiet, yet it is my home page as it covers the year of my car. The POC has it's own venue and tries to keep all cars stock, which is admirable in it's own way. Who the hell cares how many posts one site has compared to another? I am so tired of people throwing stones for no reason, just cause they are not doing it "their way" The whole friggin society in general is getting that way. Anyway, maybe I am missing your points and if so, I apologize. But I would much rather see new ideas versus the "my way or the highway" trend that you see so much of. Quote
Greenbomb Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Ok- back off...take a deep breath...relax. Better?...Good! This is a great site! Lotsa info and entertainment by a bunch of knowledgeable and entertaining guys. As far as the ups and downs, Hell, it's just like my wife's family!!! After a couple days it's back to business as usual. Just remember- opinions are like @$$holes- everyone's got one and most of them stink! Again, this is a great site and I, for one, enjoy it (all of you) immensely! So, thanks to you all. Quote
