Whats the scoop with the finned heads I keep seeing ?? good bad ?? expensive??

The aluminum ones are a performance head, if I'm not mistaken. Higher compression and such. Not cheap. The NEW Edgy ones are like $650, but vintage ones show up from time to time on e-pay and can pull $800!!!

If I'm going to pony up the cash I'm getting a new one from Edgy. Not going to mess around with a 60 year old vintage aluminum head, that I would be buying sight unseen, and who knows whats been done to it.

Silly Question as I have not got my owners manuel yet . Were is the fuel pump?? I don't see anything that even ressemble one anywhere ?? the fuel inlet on my carb is just hanging out in the wind. Any body have a pic? I found a couple older threads but most just are the fuel fliter pre carb

If you still have the engine mounted mechanical pump its on the pass side of the block at the front. The fuel line from your carb should be kind of Z shaped.

Ya nothing there anymore fuel line is like a big c currently going no where.

Look down in that area and see if there is a hole in the block where it used to be. Should be kind of a diamond shape with 2 bolt holes. Also look and see if the fuel line from the tank is down there.

Did you break that little short oil line hose, the one here with the

gold ends right behind the oil filter? If so, I got mine from a place

in Canada. I can provide their contact info if needed.

Perhaps someone else has a source also.

The pulley if you look closly has a flat spot on it, which allows clearence for the belt. Kida like modern steering wheels that are a bit flatter on the bottom for chubby thighs.

You can also put a piece of wood on the oil pan and jack it up abit if more space is needed.

Congratulations on gettin her fired.

As mentioned befor I hate napa yes HATE. So my wife and the girls stop in yesterday to the one in Gilbert because online says they have correct spark plugs. HMM I'm thinking cool give them another chance. Come to find out they don't stock it but will have next day ok cool plus i find they have points condesor cap rotor etc. so I order all of it big chunck of change. Lady named tereasa counter person real cool up front. So I go home and practically can't sleep waiting till 12pm monday am . Spend all moring finding anything to do to pass the time. Run to Napa 1213pm today. totally stoked parts should be there. Tereasa from the day before is there sweet. Thinking she is gonna have all my stuff ready and waiting as she offered the day before yes sir no proble they will be here by 12pm. Well need less to say they where not there and this Tereasa shrugs her shoulders and say my you should come back later. WTF !!! So I calmly asked about what time. She say not sure turn and asked this other guy if she can help him. At this piont I am pissed I just spent 300 plus dollar on faith thata the parts would be correct and there at 12pm as quoted. 3rd time I tried to get and answere on the time this other emmployee walks up and say oh so and so is driveing today and he is never on time. long winded story but Damm I am pissed. Is it to much to asked that people be creditable and have a undrstanding that customers right there pay checks ??? Well any way 130pm got my parts the car now runs and I have a smile as big as a house. I will not return to napa ever again ever!!! F%$ them.

My apologies for the choice of verbage but I'm sure you can empathize with what I mean.

I have the same reaction to NAPA. They do seem to have an attitude. I dislike anypalce I go into and they treat you like you know nothing. Especially when they act like they know everything. Then theres that $5 charge to get something they should have already stocked.

Good thing Napa isn't the only place to get parts for our flatties.:D

Tom

No doubt I only went there because the web site said they had the parts at that store. I am really shocked I have not set foot in napa in 15 years got the same attitude back then. I'm not just trying to start a grip session but dang they have not changed in 15 years in my opinion
