austinsailor Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Anyone know what is involved? Quote
Dale Uhrich Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 i had no trouble importing my fargo pickup. it had no title just a bill of sale. the border guys filled out the paper work and had me sign it. I gave the paper work to the ND dmv and they issued me a title. Other states may be different Quote
austinsailor Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 I've been talking to the guy who has it. I'm interested, but I don't think I should get involved - too many trucks, too far away. But, here are some more pictures he sent me. Also, it has a power takeoff and a twin cylinder hoist under it. It's missing the pto shaft and generator. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Gee Willikers....the seller should add those photos and more to his listing. 2 photos doesn't give a potential buyer enough to go on. Quote
austinsailor Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Look what you guys did to me. Now I have to go to Canada in the middle of the winter. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 What did we do to you ? Oh, I know. We must have turned you into a thief cause you stole that truck. Quote
tinlizzy Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Na, just good sense. Who wouldn't want another pilot house to decorate the yard. Good buy and it comes with arm rests. Those things are as hard to find as hen's teeth. Congrads on your purchase. Quote
austinsailor Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) She has no clue. How do you break the news that we're taking a trip way north of International Falls, Mn in the middle of the winter, when she's here sunning herself in South Texas, wanting to go to the Caribbean? I might be in trouble! Edited November 24, 2009 by austinsailor Typo Quote
Young Ed Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Are you coming through MN? Stop and say hi if you are Quote
pflaming Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Some interesting items besides the arm rest: radio plate, ash tray, and 'plastic' knob on the window crank. Quote

I might be in trouble! More from Garage Logic......... The 48-Hour Rule or "You Had Your Chance" This rule was established on March 5, 2002 and is as follows: As a reward for a fellow sneaking new and inexpensive cylinders into the Crisis Center and also escaping any female wrath that might accrue from said purchase, the fellow may make up any story he wishes after 48 hours regarding the acquisition. In other words, she gets 48 hours to notice the purchase and complain. If she misses her window, you are home free. "This old thing," you might say, when, after a week, she finally does notice, "that thing has been here since July." http://www.am1500.com/shows/garagelogic From the Garage Logic Lexigon of Terms Yes, say hello to the Minnesota Guys when coming through Dennis Quote
austinsailor Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Hard to start the 48 hour clock when we'reom south Texas and the truck is in Canada! Quote
Dale Uhrich Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 if you go down 29 to get to Manitoba you'll miss my address about 60 miles. You are welcome to stop if you like in Langdon ND and see my 1950 Fargo Quote
austinsailor Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Using the VIN decoder, it shows it was made in Canada, motor number T311. The list of truck engine numbers shows T310 as a 23" 230, T314 as a 25" 236 or 265. T311 is not shown. Now I'm curious. I've read here that all Canada motors were 25", so what in the heck do I have? It's going to be a month or two before I can go get it. Quote
Dennis_MN Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Hard to start the 48 hour clock when we'reom south Texas and the truck is in Canada! The Idea is to aquire the iron without her knowledge and see if you can sneak it by her. She has 48 hours after you get it home to notice. One other rule passed on by Roger Welsch of Old Iron: Always collect the same color tractor, then she has a hard time noticing, she has to count and if you keep moving them around it becomes hard. The idea works for tractors where there are red ones for IH, orange ones for AC, greens ones for John Deere etc.. Quote
