I need a headlight bucket (drivers side) and a windshield for a 1946 Dodge WC pickup truck. Any help you have would be very much appreciated.

Hey Tom welcome to the group. Sorry I don't have any spares of those 2 parts. However you can expand your search a little. The headlight can come from any 41-47 dodge and the windshield fits 39-47 and a whole bunch of power wagons too. Roberts does carry brand new repro headlights too if you want to go that route. Sadly no one makes windshield frames for the pickups yet.

Still need help if anybody has these items (drivers side headlight bucket and a windshield)

Pat I believe what he is looking for is the windshield frame which is a removable part on a 39-47 mopar pickup. They are quite susceptible to rusting out.

First to me the busted glass is better because you can verify the channels aren't rusted out. Getting new glass cut isn't a big deal. I would say 150-200 after verifying no or minimal rust in that lower channel. They used to go for big bucks on ebay but the last couple haven't went nearly as high. About 3 weeks ago there was one that was sandblasted already and only had 1 hole about as big around as a pen. I think that went for 175.

That's kinda what I thought too. Yup...I remember seeing one go on eBay for over 1K nearly a year ago.

I would venture to say that the one that sold for over 1K was a situation where the guy sent his truck out to be restored..the original was rough so the man told the owner he needed one and then contacted his buddy to put it on e-bay..between the guy running up his bid and the guy who requested the part the poor slob was left paying this amount and the two guys split the profit...I could be wrong but I doubt it...on my Int'l, this is a part that suffers the same fate as the Dodge. My 41 dodge frame was in decent condition when I got it.

Tim there was about a 6mon period where you couldn't touch these things for under like 750. I think the 1K one was NOS. They have come back down to a reasonable level. The last ammco 1750 I saw went for a little over 200 so those seem to be falling now too.

I have seen things like this appear in a TREND fashion..seems one will sell and out of the woodwork they appear..like cockroaches when the lights go out.

I had wanted a brake guage also...but never could get one at a reasonable price...after using one though I do believe in them as it is simplicity in it truist form for these brakes..the speed and accuaracy of a one time set is hard to beat..yes you can tweak them in without the tools..but the tool is just the cats meow.

I scored a good windshield frame for the Int'l. Fiar price..was years ago..was hoping the kid would get the fever to work on this truck..not a chance..he really has no interest in cars outside of running their wheels off.

Since selling my 41 Dodge truck years ago I have not had a reason to keep prices current..all things are going up in this hobby..some faster than others. I was surprised at the increase in AC kits...

I don't see the Plymouth clock coming down anytime..this was on my want list..has now been crossed off since this past swap meet...found a few nice pieces including the donor headlight housings for a certain set of lights you know about...(Ed. J.) These have now been prepped and awaiting assembly. So far they looking good...time will tell...

There was a fine looking p15 clock that just sold for 125 on ebay. That seems way cheaper then others have been lately. Good luck with the donor lights. Somewhere I have an article about doing the same thing to the bullseye lights and converting them to 6v halogens.

About such things as clocks for the P15.....I have begun looking more carefully and dilligently in people's assorted boxes of "junk" at swap meets. I found a P15 clock last year at a mini swap held with an area car show I usually attend. The clock was on a table with a mish mash of stuff....in fairly decent shape....needs a bit of cleanup....the price was $10 as the seller apparently did not know how they go on ebay. Likely does not run, but I don't really care. Now I have a spare.

Wow a clock for 10 bucks! what a deal! Tim and I have been discussing a little about the clock I have for mine. The top mounting tab is broken on mine.

I have to disagree with the price seem to be going down. Ebay has always been a roller coaster as far as prices go. One day you'll see an item sell for $700. A week or month later that same item may sell for less than $100 in the same condition as the $700 item was. On ebay, it's not so much a constant demand on most items. The prices only shoot up when someone who doesn't care what they pay is looking at that item. Then he'll keep bidding it up to win it no matter what the cost. If you are lucky enough to find the item you want on ebay and one of those people aren't looking, then you'll get it for a much cheaper price.

Sometimes items are are listed poorly or incorrectly. Maybe that's why identical items sell for cheap one time and high another time.

For example last year I bought some items in a lot, listed as 54 Plymouth. In the lot there were several items for a 54 Plymouth but also in the lot were a pair of bulls eye headlights!! and a rechromed hood emblem with a NOS plastic center piece for my 52 Suburban. I paid around $110 for the lot and then turned around and sold the 54 stuff and the bulls eyes for $320. So I made $200 + I got to keep the 52 Plym hood emblem and plastic insert for free.

Another time I bought a very nice 51 Plymouth hood ornament that was listed incorrectly for $5 and later decided to sell it. A couple of people started a bidding war and it sold for $250. The winner paid immediately and was very happy to have won it because in his words he "had a car with that hood ornament on it and this ornament was gonna be as close as he would ever get to owning that car again"

Me say eBay Good !

This is a great Ebay thread......But I am in NJ, and it's very hard to see with one headlight, and VERY cold with no windshield............:) any help?

Poor and incorrect listings are usually the only way I can afford stuff on ebay. Like those NOS fender shirts. Also just got back from greyhound picking up a pair of very nice box sides for my WC. The seller had the years right but he forgot the word truck in his listing title! Picked those up for 100 bucks for the pair. Of course the shipping was that much again but nice box sides are hard to come by.

You could always do what my uncle did in 1952. At the time he worked for an auto salvage yard. They got a 51 Ford into the lot that had been gutted by fire. He got the car for next to nothing. First he got the car running. Once he did that he put a concrete block in the car to use for a seat. Then he drove the car back and forth to work. The car had no windows at all or interior. He did have the car looking like new though in about a years time. Before the windows, he just put on a pair of goggles and a jacket when he drove the car.:D That was in Louisville, KY. I'll never forget riding in that car as a kid with him sitting on that concrete block. I was about 6 or 7 years old at the time.

On a more serious note. If your windshield is just flat glass, any auto glass shop should be able to fit and cut one for you.

He needs a windshield frame not just the glass. That's the tricky part. They are somewhat hard to find and can get spendy.

How about $250 for both including shipping. Reg
