Oh Cool ! I've heard of barrel racing but I always thought it involved horses

Didn't know it could be done this way ;)

Thanks Jim and Tod

How'd you like the matching helmet and wheels? Those are the old Soap Box Derby wheels. This would've been taken around 1956.

I did notice the soap box derby wheels. Mine had them too but I couldn't find a gold helmet to match. I traded my bicycle for those wheels cause they had real ball bearings in them. WOW !!! Notice the compartment at the front of the coaster. I made that to hold red bricks for added weight so it would go faster down hill.

Tod, wish I had pictures. I had a set of wheels like that but no barrel. My brothers and I had two small ponies. I rigged up a 'car' tied a rope to it, tied it to the saddle and away we went, full gallop. When one pony was tired we got the other one.

We lived on a cattle ranch so did not have to concern ourselves with traffic.:D

My horse driven sled, same one we rode down hill, was fun in the wintertime, my brother and I took turns driving and sledding...every once in a while you would have to bail out when the horse's tail lifted high.....
