oldmopar Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 I was looking at the 48 dump I brought home yesterday and something not right with the seats. I am looking for a photo of the back of the back and the bottom of the bottom. That sounds dumb what I need to see the way the seats mount to the bottom and back so I know if either part is a correct seat. The bottom I have does not have the plate for the mounting holes so I figure that is not the correct bottom but not sure about the back. So if anyone has there seats out I could use some pictures. Other then the seats I do not see too many other real problems but I did not have it running yet but that part I can handle but these seats have me confused. Quote
mikesinky Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 if the seat would be the same as a 50 b2b i could take some of mine. if i can figure out how to post them Quote
Phil Martin Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Do you have the frame the cushions mount on? Quote
oldmopar Posted October 13, 2009 Author Report Posted October 13, 2009 Yes I have the frame I am fairly sure the bottom is not correct and maybe the back also. In a few days I will do what I should have done in the 1st place and take a photo of the seats and see if anyone can id them. I am thinking about using a seat from a 60 d300 but need to take measurements to see how it will fit. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Here you go. I finally made time to search through my photos for you. Here is the bottom of an Air-O-Ride seat that's in my truck. It sits on the seat frame (last pic) and is kept from sliding around by two pins that stick up into the holes in the frame pads near the front. You have a choice of 3 different positions front to back. These are from my parts truck, The back is the same as in my truck, but the bottom piece is a foam type with a plywood base. The bottom attaches the same way, and you can see the holes on each side to fit over the pins on the frame. This one doesn't have the 3 position option. The back has hooks that hook over the top pipe on the frame, and then has another finger that snaps under the lower pipe of the frame. And here is a pic of the frame. This bolts to the seat riser. It has the sliders for for and aft adjustment. And if you look close you can see the pins that stick up into the bottom cushion to keep it in place. 1 Quote
oldmopar Posted October 13, 2009 Author Report Posted October 13, 2009 From the photos it looks like the back I have is correct but the bottom does not have the mounting holes and the seat is a little smaller maybe a seat from a wc. Thanks Quote
Young Ed Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 The WC seat has holes like the first pic Merle posted. Of course my picture of my seat is upsidedown but you can also see the hooks at the back that are different then a pilot house. Quote
oldmopar Posted October 13, 2009 Author Report Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks,Ed so its not a wc that was just a guess as it was a little smaller. I will either make the bottom work or maybe as i said before see if the 60 d300 seat will fit. Quote
