I had to chuckle reading the old posts and hearing people swear by a bunch of different solutions to keep them out of the inside of the car. I guess what I take out of the discussion is I will use about 4 of the suggested solutions and hope one of them works!

I have attached a couple pictures of the area next to my back window. I guess I have a pretty good idea what it is and that it cannot be cleaned. It's a shame because the rest of the headliner looks good.

Flashlite and an inspection mirror, open the trunk and seal all unused holes and etc...same with under the dash/firewall,floorboards, check your door seals and last but not least roll up your windows.:)

Harder to get in without extra access points.

Haven't read the original thread to which you refer . . .

In my humble opinion, nothing you can do to plug holes or anything else can keep rodents out of vehicles. They can get in if they want to. And they want to . . .

Anything you put inside to kill them will allow them to die in there, as well. When that hsppens, you haul them around a good long time before they petrify back to the odorless stage - freeze-dried, mebby?

I have used moth balls with good success, storing a converitble over wihter months in a farm barn. I am told that osage orange seed balls also do the trick, but these rot within six months and must be removed or replentrished.

Good luck

Gentlemen,

Mouse traps.

What a novel Idea.

I keep several set continously.

One Christmas I got 4 little grey mice all in one day in my garage.

None got in my car.

You can buy a value pack of say 10 for $6.

If its a messy "Kill" just dump the hole trap instead of prying the little sweeties

out of there. The bloody messes make me think new mice won't approach a used trap so keep 20-30 traps on hand when the cool season comes

and watch em "rollin up the score" "10-20-30 40-50 or more the Bloody Red Baron of Germany".

Tom

PS. Please no bleeding heart liberal comments about animal cruelty.

They will Monk up your Car Man - That costs serious Money - WAKE UP.

I agree. That looks like the window is leaking a little' date=' then caused rust spots. Don't think that's from mice.

Best way to keep mice out of a car is to at least start it up, and move it once a month or more.[/quote']

Norm;

Do your mice bail out if you leave the driveway?

Do you have video? I need to see it to believe it.

I have a witness and photos to attest that my car gets out, and we do have video footage of Don taking his family to Sonic in his car. :)

i think you are looking at a water leak and rust spots..

I hope you are right. Resealing that back window is a relatively easy fix. :)

The harder part will be finding a cleaner to lighten the rust spots without damaging the headliner.

If all else fails....Whiteout!:eek:Seriously though maybe there is a fabric prouduct to mask stains, although getting rust out of white might be on the top ten list of toughstains...maybe try whisk etc.?

Leave them there, adds character to the car. There isn't any thing wrong with 'original patina'.
