How many here are AARP members and what benefits have you used?

By using the bennifits have you recouped the joining fee?

Just by my wife and I taking the driver's safety course we probably saved the little bit we pay.

The hotel and other travel benefits aren't worth that much you can get as good a deal for about a dozen other reasons (AAA, senior rate etc.).

If the dues were higher I probably wouldn't be a member but they are pretty cheap.

We use the motel discount if it's better than others we belong to. Otherwise we don't get much use out of it.

We use the discounts on Food, Hotels, Car Rentals, our Home alarm system, and shoping. The savings over the year more that pay for the membership fees.

Hi Don, I am not a member, but we have Secure Horizons medicare through them. It is a pretty good insurance plan, my wife had open heart surgery last year, cost us $500. We don't have any co pay at the doctors or lab fees. Tony C

I save their brochures and flyers to start my fire in the fireplace come winter...now for the real truth..I have not even looked into anything associated with them...I do not know of anyone that has as I have never heard any good woods of praise..then it may also be a well kept secret..who knows..

yep i like the magazine. i get the feeling i am not being BS'ed too.

i save more than membership on movies alone. and most places honor it....actually you just have to mention AARP, without showing a card, and you get 10-15%.

i think it is an honest org that helps us over 50....

I am member along with my wife. I joined AARP because of their Automobile Club Plan. It was cheaper that AAA for me. I have a duaghter that is at college and has a car at college. We have used the plan on several times when they have had a flat tire and it has worked out very well.

It was of having a piece of mind for both my wife and kids when traveling. They also will tow my antuque car if it ever breaks down onthe road. The other nice feature is that if you are a member and a re traveling in another persons car that does not have AAA or a auton club service they will honor your card for towing for the ownere of the car that you are traveling in. This is just tahat extra piece of security.
