Wish I still lived in Sydney.........thats an interesting car......it appears to have a US, Fulton type sun visor, which is VERY uncommon, if not rare in Oz......also while it appears to be a rust bucket there lots of trim & other bits, the spare engine looks like its from a truck going by the bellhousing mounts BUT notice the driveshaft in the pic.....it has the normal uni joint/sliding coupling....not the mongrel ball & trunion thing........now who do I know who can hold this thing for me?........lol....andyd.

Buff out?..........nah, just give it a wash.........lol....reminds me of a 40 Dodge I found in the Sydney seaside suburb of Coogee in about 1973/4........yum, what a delight.....the guy that owned it was an ex- plumber who had discovered the delights of malted hops.........burp.........lol......I asked around at the Coogee Bay Hotel and was introduced to "Fred"......."yep I've got a 1940 dodge......its in me garage, been there since 1948, was a taxi ya know......reco'd engine, in '47, had a prang in 48 and I bought it, done 'er up but lost interest.......yeh its for sale.........wanna see it".......eerr yep.......so back we go to Freds place......the garage was under the house, a sloping driveway up to the wooden garage doors.........Fred goes to open the doors.....the first side as he moves it open falls off in his hands........lol.....the other door held on by only 1 hings is gently opened.........and there she is in all its glory........not more than 1/4 mile from the Pacific Ocean, in a nice closed in garage that probably hadn't seen daylight for 20 yrs.......yum......."ya take $15.00?"(which was the going rate for 1940 Dodges back then, I ended up buying 4 for $15.00 each...my tightwad Scotish ancestry helped!!)........er yeh he says.......we then proceded to push the "fur" covered thing out into the sunshine.......lol........as it came to the downward sloping drive al worries that it would career out of control were put to rest.......the permeanently flat tyres slide down the drive with the rims revolving inside the tyres........at the bottom it stopped, we got a hose and tried to hose the layer of dust off......no success, this was indeed the "furry" Dodge, opening the drivers door, the door pillar came with it.......lol.....and this must have been the original hipo "lightweight" versions as most of the floor, sills, lower cowl on both sides boot, and lid and other parts had succumed to the salt air........ended up getting it towed the 20kms home by a tow truck, lol........most of it arrived safely tho I'd hate to have been following it.........never took any pics, but this one for sale on ebay at present is a low mileage gem in comparision..........still I'd be happy to have it for parts.......lol...............andyd
