JerseyHarold Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 I've been reading about body adjustment (door fit, etc.) and the factory literature keeps mentioning a 'fiber block' (or wedge). What is it made out of and where would you get one? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 most fiber blocks are PHENOLIC resin based products...they can be cut to any shape you want with a band saw but I recommend that you cut it with a respirator or at minimum water flowing over the surface if you use a hacksaw etc...they are extemely durable and are less prone to bugger paint as compared to metal...stiffer than most woods laying about the shop Quote
greg g Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) Chunk o 2X4 will work in a pinch. Edited August 6, 2009 by greg g Quote
PatS.... Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Wood is fiber. Fiber block is a hunk of 2X4. Remember, an engineer wrote that factory literature. Quote
Andydodge Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Yep, fibre block is a piece of wood........further adjustments may have been made with an engineers adjustment tool.......10lb hammer.........andyd Quote
