IronMike Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Hey guys, I don't post on here much but I do spend a lot of time researching and reading other's posts in my quest for knowledge. This site has been a valuable tool as I tinker with my 50 Dodge. I guess basically this site is like my car club. I appreciate the wide variety of cars and styles represented here and the freely shared advice and opinions of the members. I don't have the wealth of knowledge that some of you guys display, but I have a resource that I wanted to make available to give something back. My grandfather was in the service station business for years and on a recent visit he gave me a copy of a MOPAR "Streamliner" quick reference list that includes exploded diagrams and parts numbers for the most common service operations for the 6 cylinder models from 1936-1947. The book breaks all the information down by sub groups: front axle, rear axle, cooling system etc. I am not the most computer savvy individual so I am not sure the best way to post this info for anyone that is interested. I have thought about scanning the pages (about 235), possibly sending them to site administrator so they could be posted on the website and available to anyone that was interested or just putting this info out there for anyone that is interested and I can scan/e-mail specific information. I have attempted to attach two images, one of the front cover and another of a front brake diagram to give you an idea of the info. Let me know if there is a need or a way to get this info out there in a better manner. Thanks, Mike Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 That is a great quick reference and I have one with the dealership's stamp where the original owner got a copy when he bought the 47 Dodge Town Sedan I have. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 It is good to see another Tennesseian sharing information. Thanks for posting. If you ever get near Murfreesboro on a Friday evening make sure you stop by the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Club cruise in located in the Belks parking lot just off I-24. Quote

Thanks, Mike You could take the whole book to a place like Kinko's and they could take the spine off and do a few copies of the whole book and bind them...there might be a few guys willing to buy a "reprint", Quote
desoto1939 Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Thia same reference catalog just sold on eaby for $48.00. If you could get a reproduction version for a very resonable cost I would be interested in a copy. I do have a 36-42 Master reference book for the Desoto's and also several other catalogs that reference Autolite information from 36-51. This lists all of the various electrical components and there Autolite Numbers that were used on the cars. I am willing to help send PDF information if anyones needs specific info on a car or truck. The sharing of information is the most important aspect of the hobby. Rich HArtung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote

I did scan this into my computer at one point in time and it took quite a while. I had the intentions of turning it over to dezeldoc for Pdf formating but my computer crashed and and I was without one at home for an extended period. I just haven't been able to find the time to tackle it again. If I can help you out let me know and I can scan the information that you are looking for. Mike Quote

Mike Folks, I found it and now I have all of it consolidated into one PDF. I had it printed today and it was worth the 49 bucks at Kinkos to have it printed and bound. Here is the PDF copy. Enjoy. Link removed due to dead site. Regards, FG. Edited July 23, 2012 by fedoragent Change in link status. Quote
fedoragent Posted July 23, 2012 Report Posted July 23, 2012 Not sure what this pdf was, but it does not link well anymore, and it appears someone was upset by it. MegaUpload was a site that people used to upload lots of data. There wasn't anyone upset by the PDF itself, but rather the other types of content on it. Examples, people were misusing a site like MegaUpload to upload whole copyrighted recent movies, illegally distributed software (I worked for one of those software companies that was victim.) and the like. The US government shutdown Megaupload some time ago. Again, the PDF was not the issue. I still have the PDF that I made of my book. Also, there is a site that someone else posted on this message board that had all the same content. FG. Quote
