adam_knox Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Yeah, sorry we missed you Merle! I was thinking of everyone there on Thursday night. I got stranded at the hospital while visiting my dad. My car doesn't have top, so got to hang out in ICU all night. Boy, I don't know how patients get any sleep. I'm healthy and I couldn't get a wink with all the lights, beeps, and nurses coming in at 4 am to do xrays! Just glad it didn't hail at all! Was everyone busy washing their cars on Saturday morning before the judging started? Quote
Young Ed Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I did not know your car had a girlfriend. Thought you did.....I want to see pictures... Interesting since I consider my car a girl too.... Pictures will be coming soon I've only been home about an hour Quote
Captain Neon Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Interesting since I consider my car a girl too....Pictures will be coming soon I've only been home about an hour Careful there, Ed. I once referred to one of our X-ray inspection machines with a female personal pronoun and got a stern lecture from our HR manager. I entered the food business because I expected political correctness to be all but non-existant. It was when I worked summers as a college student. Things have never been the same since women forced their ways into the taconite mines in the '90s. Quote

Happened! Quote
Captain Neon Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 That's new terminology for me, but I don't doubt it for a moment. Between getting asked questions about antique radio vibrators and Mississippi river dykes by HR, I do my very best to avoid speaking to women when I am at work. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Ok few pics as promised. First Me, Wayne(daddyo23), and Merle. Don C please notice the proper use of commas. Here's a 41 that I really liked the color of. This I believe is very close to the ivory I want on my 48. Me crammed into a 4cyl plymouth I believe it was a 31. 50 plymouth row Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 The only other registered p15 there. Wayne did make it there with his but I missed getting a picture of it. A nice pair of fins. Both 59s 58 vs 58(ok the plymouth is a 57 but close enough) Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Our traveling group to door county. A pitstop in Plymouth Wisconsin. A stop for lunch along lake michigan. We had cheese burgers, cheese curds, and onion rings from a little cafe about a block from the parking lot. Yum Famous restaurant in Door county WI. Roof is covered in grass and during the day has goats walking on it. Goats were apparently put away for the night by the time we got there. The roof of the entire building has grass on it like the sign. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Last one a few non car shots. Holy hill Church. I cant say exactly how far up we had to drive to get to this place but it must be the tallest point for many many miles. You can climb 178 stairs to get to the top of one of the towers. Here's what the view looked like This church was the first catholic church in milwaukee. Eventually it was moved to the old world wisconsin site. Cool thing about it is my ancestor donated the land it was first built on. An actual snipe. We used to send the rookie boy scouts on snipe hunts. Until I saw this I always thought it was a made up bird just to mess with the newbies. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 I think this was a sign it was time to go home. Cars FULL And a picture of all my swap meet goodies. Thanks John Quote
wilmot andy Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Great picsof the show. It was real close to me, but couldn't make it. Did you try the Pitti Pana dish at Al Johnsons? Its swedish hash and half the plate is pickled beets. My family goes to Door County every year, camp in the state park. Didn't see any 49 wayfarerers? Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 We didnt eat at al johnsons. Just stopped in to see it. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Norm the stuffed dog is mine. Thats Spot the target dog and since I named my car spot I got one of those to sit in there. Its usually on the dash but it kept falling off from the breeze and turning. Carmons going to sew a magnet into its bottom to keep it in place. Quote
Captain Neon Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Brer Rabbit sets on my package shelf while holding on to the vintage after-market rear speaker. Anyone care to guess why Brer Rabbit rides in my Plymouth? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Ed, good to see your car being mostly one sort of color. Sounds like everyone had a good time, and you found some goodies. That yellow shade may have been called Charlotte Ivory back then, like on the P15s. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 To escape the briar patch? Or the tar baby? Quote
Young Ed Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 I did think it was a little odd that the skirts didn't match. I suspect they were added later and rather then risking a bad paint match he just did white. No one knows how the ford got in there. I sat behind a 34 ply right next to it and the owner never did show his face. Quote
Captain Neon Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 I know this is a Mopar forum' date=' but..........someone else posted this picture first, AND, it was evidently in the POC show. How did a Ford get in the POC show?Anyway, this is the same color as the 57 Ford coupe I had back in the early 60's, except my skirts matched the blue bottom of the car. Love those 57/58 Fords. [img']http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/dodgepu1946/Oconomowoc%20WI%202009/DSC00144.jpg[/img] Looks like it is the parking lot at the hotel, and not actually the show. I've heard tales of POC members arriving in non-Plymouths or even modern just to hang out with their friends. The POC meets are when they see their friends every year. Kind of like regional clubs where most people's Plymouths were sold years ago or the Plymouth has been locked away for years because the owner can't drive it any more. However, they never miss a meeting unless, of course, they are or spouse in hospital or kids are in town. Quote
Captain Neon Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 To escape the briar patch? Or the tar baby? Despite simply being a fan of SotS, SotS was also released by Disney in 1946: the same year my Plymouth was new. I can just imagine the original owner taking their [grand]kids in my Plymouth to see SotS at the movie theater or even drive-in. Quote
Young Ed Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 That 58 was right in the show. The show was in the parking lot of the hotel. The 58 was parked in with the early 30s cars. The 57ply moved over from his spot for the comparison photos. Norm our neighbor with this 58 said his original one was the white and blue of this one too. His current one is all original from CA. Quote
1940plymouth Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 The '57 and '58 Fords are my favorite Fords. My Father had a red and black 4dr '57 for awhile, he didn't like it, but I sure did Quote
