My name is Dustin, I live in San Antonio, TX. I just brought home a nice little project to keep me busy. It's a 1947 Dodge Club Coupe.

She's needs some work right now but thats alright. I worked in a body shop for 5 years, and ever since I quit to help run the family business I've been itching to have a project car. I found this one on craigslist and it was just to good to pass. The body is in great shape for it's age although the floors have seen better days. It has the original motor and fluid drive trans that both work, altought it needs a complete brake rebuild so I can't get it on the road just yet. The car also came with an extra frame that has another flathead 6 and fluid drive tranny. I've attached pictures and I will keep everyone updated on the progress. Let the fun begin!

Welcome. Looks like a nice coupe. You came to the right place for info on the car.

Check out forum member Charlies bolt-on disc brake kit for your car before you decide on the brakes. About the same price as a stock rebuild. http://www.rustyhope.com/

Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome to "The Place For Flat Head Action", hope you make yourself a permanent resident. Dont' forget to fill out a user profile, if you have not done so yet, helps us help you.

Yes you can go bolt on front disc conversion, or if you decide to stay stock, there parts available, and the stock brakes work well if they are in good shape, and adjusted correctly, not a s good as modern disc brakes, but pretty good if working optimally..........Fred

Welcome, Dustin. Lots of knowledgeable flathead fans here.

I can't recall if other forum members live around San Antonio.

For brake parts, you can check with O'Reilly Auto stores - if you have them.

I got wheel cyls and hoses there for my 47 Plymouth.

Or also check with NAPA.

Welcome to not only the best forum for our old flatheads but probably the best forum on the WWW. If you cannot get an answer to a question here, you are not going to get an answer. These guys are great and very knowledgeable.

Question for D24 owners.......are the wheel cylinders on Dodges the

same setup as the P15 Plymouths??? Two in front, one in rear??

Welcome, Dodges are kinda the minority here, good to see another one. Good luck on your project. ONE IMPORTANT ITEM, fluid drive does not provide engine compression braking when he engine is not running. It's very important to chock the wheels or have a properly working emergency / parking brake, lest it roll out for a visit with the neighbor.

Looks like a good solid start. If you are going to redo the brakes you might want to consider upgrading to a disc brake conversion. Do a forum seach here nad you will find lots of stuff. Plus one of out forum members makes an adapter kit.

Have fun.

Dustin, was that speedy shark's car? It looks like the same one he had up for sale here. I hope you have an awesome time with it.

I don't know his forum name but yes that is the ad that I got the car from, I've been taking some time to look it over and working on a check list of what I need to do.

I see that a suitable wheel chock was in evidence in the Picture Frankie posted. Did this car come with that option when you got it??
