Look at these 3 holes; appear to be stamped not drilled, brace behind is very clean. This is an early '53 built in CA. Located on front of hood, right side above Dodge emblem. Any ideas? We cannot find any photos showing any emblem in the location. Holes are almost at exact 45' angle. 53 Dodge Hood

I would guess a name tag of some sort went there.

However, in this pic of a 53, nothing is there..............so I wonder if it was a metal nameplate added by

the selling dealer.

I've never seen holes like that. My B2B doesn't have any and I've never seen any in the books. Although I've also never seen any dealer emblems up front, I wonder if it could be that...

The only thing I could think of why they would drill holes like that is the dealer

tag thing. Could have been something else I guess. It might be somehow

logical for a dealer to place a sign there, as the tailgate on these trucks could

be left down a lot and his sign not be seen.

The 54-56 trucks had a badge there but it wasn't angled like that. I'm also not sure that the hoods are the same.

I can't imaging a dealer tag, there. The holes are perfect inside and out. Much better than holes drilled by the dealer for reflectors and tie down hooks. This was a school district truck, maybe a asset tag. Trying to contact orginal driver/owner.

Thanks

A school bus truck? Then there may have been a mirror on there in order to watch the kids! They all have such mirrorrs now.
