Plymouthy Adams Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 does anyone here happen to have a list of accessories for the 53/54 Plymouth...am needing information on fender skirt applications..could not find them on the parts list I have on hand...must be in the accessory book..on line listings for skirts shows 53/54 fit all..not so...same year Dodge listings show difference between body styles and I figure Plymouth is about the same.. RobertKB this may be something you have knowledge of... Quote
RobertKB Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Hi Tim, sorry I have no knowledge of skirts for 53/54 Plymouths. I can't ever recall seeing a car with them or even a picture. As you say, they may be out there......but where? Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Tim, I really don't think there is a difference between the 53/54 Plymouth bodies, other than things like tail lights, etc. So........the skirts should be the same for both years. Try Agape. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 Norm..I was a thinking like you were but I can assure you that there is..not only it appears in the skirts but in a number of small differences in the rear... these skirts I have are from a 54 wagon..will not fit the opening of the club coupe..the club coupe has a faster slope on the rear arch it appears..I have seen pictures of the fast sloped on the internet at a personal website...so it appears there are different models..now just to find what is what... The site lists 54 Dodge as having more than one style skirt..am sure that Plymouth follows suit... Quote
Tim Frank Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 At the risk of being branded a "skirt disturber", I have to say that as interesting as the topic "chasing skirts" seemed, I did find it a bit of a let-down.... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Tim, In that case maybe it's the just the wagons and 4 door sedans that are different in the rear. Just looked at some old pictures of my older brothers 53 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door hardtop he had, then compared the wheel opening on my parents 53 Plymouth 4 door they had. Don't really have a real good view of my parents car from the side, but it looks like the wheel opening is probably smaller than on my brothers hardtop. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 5, 2009 Author Report Posted May 5, 2009 I was hoping we had someone here who hd experience with the skirts on the 53/54..I will probably have to carry them to Lou's place and test them out over there, between the two of us there is one of every model... Quote
woodscavenger Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 I agree with Tim. The only skirt I keep chasing keeps running away from me until I run faster and catch her. Quote
Frank Elder Posted May 6, 2009 Report Posted May 6, 2009 So different rear, different size skirt? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 6, 2009 Author Report Posted May 6, 2009 that has always been true....skirts and tail draggers..now is that a picture???? Quote
