BulldogTom Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 OK, here we go again. The driver side door of my 52 cannot be repaired. Too much damage. What years will match up with this truck? How much would a decent door cost? Thanks for all your help. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
Merle Coggins Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 '51-'53 should match up. I paid $100 and $150 for my doors a couple of years ago. If you can find them local do it. Shipping will kill your budget. Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I've got some I'd sell for $100. I could even bring them to Tim's BBQ if paid for earlier. Quote
BulldogTom Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 Reg, Could you post or PM a picture to me? I will not be able to make it to Tim's BBQ. I have a tax prep office and I have to take my wife on a vacation after the season ends to make up for missing our anniversary. I will be in San Diego that weekend. I guess I should ask Tim first if he would mind holding on to it for a couple of days. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Here is is Tom. Pretty darn straight,no rustout but some tiny holes drilled just below the door handle for a hasp in a past life. A couple of other small holes for a mirror too and one small dent by the wing window. They must have fixed the door handle cause it opens and closes fine and stays closed. Quote
Dave72dt Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 Your parts truck looks almost showroom fresh compared to what we can find here in the Midwest. I've got more time in fixing one fender than what the entire side of that truck would take to prep for paint. Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I'm parting it out if you need something. Quote
48Dodger Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 No problem Tom...I'll hang on to it til you get back. 48D Quote
MBF Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I saw an east cost pilot house in that kinda of shape once. I believe it was back in 1959! What a great starting point to work from. Mike Quote
BulldogTom Posted April 7, 2009 Author Report Posted April 7, 2009 Reg - Looks like what I need. I'll take it. How do I pay you? Can I mail you a check? Tim - thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it. I will be out to pick it up the week following the BBQ. I will get it touch with you when I get back from San Diego. I really appreciate your help. I might even pick your brains on my project when we meet up. Tom Lodi, CA Quote
48Dodger Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Hey, no problem Tom, glad to do it. I always enjoy it when site members drop by. Reg! I'm thinkin' my rear fenders might be a little ruff (48-50 style). Got any good ones laying around? If they need unbolting I'll run up and give you a hand. I mean...as long as your wife cooks this time. lol. 48D Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Yeah, I have some pretty nice ones. Nicer than the one in the photo above of the green truck. What's your offer ? Wait, you aren't gonna use them on a circle racer are you. What......you didn't like the "Diet Dogs" I prepared ??? I don't know if you new this but after Lisa got home ,the day of yours Bob's and Jim's visit ,she dragged me by the ear out to the garage pantry where new bottles of ketchup, mustard, and mayo were stored. 48Dodger Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Wait, you aren't gonna use them on a circle racer are you? uh....no....not at all......why would you say that? 48D Quote
