Besides cubic inches, are there any other differences between the the 2 engines, such as stroke or manifolds?

Do the industrial mills have to be extensively modified in order to install in a passenger car?

Thanks fellas!

For whatever reason, I have heard that the 251 is a good engine but the 265 can be a dog. Maybe it is the longer stroke, I don't know. I have a truck 251 in both my '48 Dodge and '38 Chrysler as neither had a motor when I got them but I had the two good engines so used them. I have put a ton of miles on both and I feel the 251 is a sweet engine.

Thanks fellas, just got back from a quick trip to Chicago and Beloit. Good news got to take a quick peak at the Belvidere plant[jeeps] bad news, mother nature tried to put us in the ditch several times last night before we camped out at the Holiday inn for the evening. I should have known better than to head for Dodgeville with the snow and ice coming on...

If it is true about he 265's being a dog I am interested in buying them ----CHEAP. I`ll take all I can get-especially the truck ones with the twin carbs!
