Robin (UK) Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Hi Guys, I just got the official pictures of the Rhythm Riot from our photographer - over 2500 images, so they'll take a bit of editing!!! Looked through them quickly and found these, from the Sunday parade. That's Deano's lovely green P15 2-door sedan, recently imported from New York. There's a 41 Plymouth Staff car and a 54 that I'd not seen before. Also a couple of shots of Colette and me in the convertible. Sadly, I haven't got any pictures of the beautiful P15 business coupe that was also at the festival. The parade goes through the ancient town of Rye and it's always an amazing sight to see the American cars driving down the medieval high street. The day sure was COLD! Hope you like the pix. R. Quote
RHDSP15C Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 I hope these great old cars aren't made to suffer in that terrible climate. Quote
randroid Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Robin, Delightful, absolutely delightful! Will there be somewhere we'll be able to see more once they're edited? -Randy Quote
Robin (UK) Posted December 20, 2008 Author Report Posted December 20, 2008 Hey Randy, There is a thread on the UK NSRA Forum that has some great pictures: http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/showthread.php?t=18480&highlight=riot also, some video on YouTube. This one (from 1.53 onwards) shows the cars driving around the festival site - a lot of British cars can also be seen in this clip: This is a scanning view of some of the cars parked at the festival site (you can see that we do get sunshine, sometimes): Here's another scanning view of the static display: And here's a video of one of the bands: All the best. Robin. Quote
Brendan D25 Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks Robin, I enjoyed the pictures and videos. I always enjoy the British cars. My first car in 1967 was a 1962 Ford Capri (here it was called a Consul 315). There have been a few since, 58 Wolsely, 61 and 64 Rover 3 litres. If Don Coatney is reading this I hope he finds the Lady Luck video(burlesque) . Brendan. Quote

RobertKB Posted December 21, 2008 Report Posted December 21, 2008 Beautiful cars and looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for posting! I lived in London (what a great city) for three years when I was in my early twenties and got down to Rye once. One of the original Cinque Ports and a wonderful old town. I hope you were able to get to the Mermaid Inn, a smugglers' haven in the 18th Century, and have a pint of bitter. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! Quote
Brendan D25 Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Don, I guess the easiest way would be to go to Youtube, and search "Lady Luck Room Rhythm Riot 06". I have looked at this video about four times trying to link it here, but no luck. Brendan. Quote

Robin (UK) Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Posted December 22, 2008 OK. So I get to organize an event with great cars, fantastic bands and beautiful women removing their clothes. It's a tough life, but someone has to do it!!! Here's my wife, Colette, with two of the burlesque dancers who performed at this year's festival.... Quote
Niel Hoback Posted December 22, 2008 Report Posted December 22, 2008 Geez Robin, Does one guy deserve ALL the good stuff? I guess so, because you seem to have it. Well, I you do deserve it, even if it does make be ridiculously jealous. My envy is limitless. Quote
normanpitkin Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 hi robin, i just got my 48 chrysler new yorker coupe and it failed the mot on a few issues ,i wonder if you think it should have? The garage said the single large brake light was insufficient and also it must have windscreen washers, any thoughts? Also ,did you change your headlamp units ,if so ,what to ? Thanks for your input, william Quote
Robin (UK) Posted December 23, 2008 Author Report Posted December 23, 2008 Hi William, Sorry to hear that your Chrysler failed the MOT. Your car should not have failed the MOT on the single rear brake light or lack of washers. I'd suggest you need to find a testing station that has more knowledge of old cars - or find the correct legislation and take the car back and show them the rules. I have actually put extra brake lights into the rear lamps, so all three work together. I just feel safer with that set-up. I can recommend an MOT station if you need to find one. Good luck. Robin.
