Deano (GB) Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Hi Guy's. Hope someone out there can give me a bit of advice. Just had delivered, after market fender skirts and visor from Agape Auto. Skirts are simple to fit and look really great. Visor fit is not too good. All bracketry angles seem to be quite far out, and to make it fit involves putting too much pressure on the panel causing it to kink, wondered if anyone else has had similar experience, or am I (in the absense of fitting instructions) fitting it wrong?? Seem's simple enough , two outer parts of visor slide into central part fixed to split screen, brackets then fix to drip rails. Deano Quote
PatS.... Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 All I can suggest is to put the visor together off the car but leave all fasteners as loose as possible, then begin attaching it to the car, begining in the center. Don't tighten anything right up until you have it where you want it. They were universal to fit most cars, so they will be a bit of a challenge the first time. Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 One size fits none. If you are bowing and kinking not to mention twisting, your visor may be wider than the width of your car. take Ye Olde cutting wheel after you have measured both widths and cut to fit. Cut the ends that fit into the center section, go slowly so there is no warpage and they will slide back into place with some gentle handling. Good day and happy visoring! Quote
windsor8 Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Do you have any photos of the skirts? Quote
claybill Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 skirts....do they overlap or fit up inside the well? do you have fender guard trim plates? skirts sund nice. pics? claybill@netexpress.net. Quote
greg g Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 The old style Fulton and some others from the past were adjustable for width in the center. The outer pieces floated in the middle section and could be pushed or pulled to accomodate different models of cars and trucks. So are you talking about width or the actual mounting angle?? Here the Fultons were adjustable and some of the others were not. Check member Normscoupe website. I believe he has the Fulton instructions posted there. Quote
Deano (GB) Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 Thanks Guys, Some really helpful advice. Skirts are really nice, they overlap and fix with a real simple bracket, so as to get them on and off quick to give a different look. They don't come with any trim, but I'm going to fit a couple of fluted chrome strips to mine that were off of a '48 chevy same age, Robins got some early Buick trims on his that look real cool too. I'm sure he'll post pic's. Will try and post some pics tommorrow but meanwhile check this link for photo's; www.skirtsandvisors.com. Thanks, Deano Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Don't know if this will help with your visor. But........here's the instructions on how to fit the Fulton Sunvisor. Maybe they will help you to see how to adjust the visor width. http://www.indfloorcoating-repair.com/fultonsunshield.htm Quote
Phil Martin Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Website says the visers are adjustable in the middle. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Picture of the Ford in the Skirts & Visors ad. This Fulton visor is on ebay......as well as other Fultons. Might look at some of the pictures in the ads to see if any different than the one you got. Has pics of back side also. Brendan D25 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 As others have said most sunvisors are adjustable, but there are also non-adjustable ones out there. When painting the sunvisor, the back side should be painted with a flat paint so as not to get a reflection into the car(your eyes) from the hood when driving towards the sun. Brendan. Quote
