Englishbob Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 So i traded my sickle for a 48 Chrysler windsor. Everything except the fuel guage seems to be working, starts easy and drives down the road. paint is original and needs a little love.interior has been redone to a very high standard. I've now looked a round and decided its a project i can get to. Anyone give me an idea of its value so i can sell it to a good home? thanks Bob Quote

Anyone give me an idea of its value so i can sell it to a good home? thanks Bob It's hard to say off the bat, a picture or pictures will surely help. it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. . . I have seen lately, because of the economy being so bad right now, cars worth more than what they are bringing in. It's a buyers market and even though your car won't depreciate in value thru the years, if you keep up with it, people are just not buying much so most get less than regular market value.. My Advice keep it as long as possible... Quote
Englishbob Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 I'm running out of 'indoor' space and really don't want to store it outside. I love the car but priorities have to be the guiding factor and its a project i just don't have the time for Bob Quote
RobertKB Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 I live in Lethbridge, probably fairly close to you. Where are you? What body style is it? Pictures would be great. I don't need another car but..... Quote
Captain Neon Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 In late October and in today's economy, take the first $2000 that comes along. Otherwise, prepare to store. Quote
Englishbob Posted October 19, 2008 Author Report Posted October 19, 2008 Looks like its storage then Quote
Frank Elder Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 That's worth way more than $2000. Just have to find your buyer. Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Acording to NADA: Original MSRP: $2,041 Low Retail - $5,200; Average Retail Value - $9,350; High Retail - $13,700 Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Here's another price guide for comparison called Collector Car Price Guide 2009. Guide ranges from a parts car to a show car. Is it the short or long wheel base? Quote
Englishbob Posted November 21, 2008 Author Report Posted November 21, 2008 So around C$6500 should be a good price? Bob Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 According to an October issue of Old Cars Weekly, old cars are still holding their prices, unlike everything else. They just had an article about this in one of the October issues. Evidently they have also been looking at cars for sale and being sold at various swap meets, in addition to the auctions. The only problem is if you try and sell fast. Then you may get less than what it's worth. Quote
