Plymouthy Adams Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 you have vinyl if I remember..have you tried lighter fluid..test on an out of sight piece someone first..this stuff usually cleans without doing damage..even works great on velour and over spray..cleaned up behind a not so well taped off paint job once..owner did the work..I did the clean up.. LowOiLer Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 Some say rince cold water to remove as much ink as possible.. (you can skip this by now since you have done what you have) Then rub with Ivory soap (pure bar)... Wash using hot water and a color safe none clorine bleach laundry detergent (like liquid tide with bleach alternative).... ======================= Or use "FOLEX" instant carpet spot cleaner....no rinsing... I perfer the Folex personally ... Walmart about 5 or 6 bucks.. lots of cleaners there, so here is description... it is white 32oz bottle with purple writting... ============= Sooner the better.. greg g Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 WD 40, put a bit of Vaseline on it first, that will open up the pores of the vinyl, wipe off the vaseline, then spray with wd 40 or apply it to a cloth and rub it in. An old toothbrush works to agitate, then wipe it off. Ball point ink is a pain to get out. If that doesn't work, look in your yellow pages for auto detailer supplies or auto dealer supplies, they will usually have products for those kinds of marks. You can also try a janitorial supply store for graffiti remover. That might be a bit harsher for the material though. You could also try a bit of laquer thinner but test it first on an unsee area. MOPARSRUS Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 don't use laquer thinner or mineral spirits they will take the dye out of your vinyl try useing some murphys oil soap and a tooth brush Quote
1947PLEVY Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 I've used simple green and got pretty good results on my leather couch for getting ink stains off.. Just takes a little time. God Bless Us All... John 47Plevy Quote
