  1. My camera (at a distance) somehow takes pictures that make things look much better than they actually are... including myself I'm sure!? The Meadowbrook has seen better days by far, but I like it the way it is. No stressing about scratches, dents, salt, sand, rain, etc.
  2. No deflector of any type.... I don't believe there's ever been any mud flaps either. My car is pretty rusty, but I just kinda roll with it ?
  3. Hi Andy, The local DMV never said a word about the condition of the plate....= win for me! Minnesota road salt kicked up by the rear tires rusted that area and lower down as well. My name is John ?
  4. 3-27-20: Home again. About an hour and a half round trip. We got rained on at the end. Wipers worked pretty good ?
  5. 3-27-20: This old Chevy was parked at the end of someone's driveway as an ornament. The highway was pretty steep, yet we made it up in 3rd gear @ 35mph with over 500 lbs of us in the car ?
  6. 3-27-20: Pic 1: ready to go! Pic 2: having fun along the way ?
  7. 3-27-20: Bottom pic is one of the reverse lights.
  8. 3-27-20: Pic 1: period bumper tow hitch with an original piston attached. I had to repurpose that piston somehow! Pic 2: lights up the license plate
  9. 3-27-20: Thought you guys would like these pics ?
  10. 3-27-20: All 5 of us (and the dog) out for a cruise on some back roads tonight. It never gets old! Pic 1: warming up Pic 2: bumper pushed into passenger side fender when original owner's wife lost control of the car and ran into a stump in their front yard circa 1957. The original owner's daughter told me the story on the phone a couple of years ago.
  11. 3-24-20: Home at last! The car runs great as long as it has gas haha ?
  12. 3-24-20: Stopped to grab the mail out of my box.
  13. 3-24-20: On my way home from work on the interstate. 65 mph the whole way. 40+ mile round trip.
  14. 3-24-20: I remember my dad running out of gas several times back in the 70s. Only then we had to walk! I was grateful for my smart phone.
  15. 3-24-20: Drove the Meadowbrook to work today. Ran out of gas 7 miles from home! Wifey came to the rescue with a gas can. I was only half an hour late for work. ?
  16. Looking good man!? Any time you get together with Betsy we want to hear about it ?
  17. Looking good ? Man I love your car ?
  18. I'll second what Merle has stated. We found out to my surprise the seats on my 51 230 were hardened (learn something new everyday) and my builder touched them up during the rebuild.
  19. 3-14-20: Close up of decades-old damage on driver side rear. Final pic: at post office to mail out taxes.
  20. 3-14-20: Taxi duty this morning! Taking home my daughter's friends after a sleepover. Cloudy and a brisk 25F; heater on full blast. ?
  21. Yep, that's the one! I cried when I watched the YouTube video of her sinking (target practice) ?
  22. Looking good! Welcome and keep us updated ?
  23. Awesome! Congrats and have fun with it! Looks great ?
  24. Ya look good man! Thank you for your service. I was an operations specialist aboard the USS Worden CG-18. I was the surface/sub-surface warfare coordinator/weapons operator. Weapons operator meaning Harpoon missile programmer. The ship's primary mission was anti-aircraft though. We had the longest range missiles of any ship deployed there. We protected the carriers during their flight ops and other ships that launched Tomahawks at land targets.
  25. Yes, you can use a YOM (year of manufacture) in MN as long as the plate has one letter amongst the numbers. You only need one plate...on the rear. Yes, I'm a Desert Storm Vet. I bought the VFW plate on eBay for that reason, and also because it has the perfect patina for the car. The YOM plate is treated like a collector plate; one time fee.
