I put a GM rack on my 51 Dodge pu sraight axle 20 years ago you have to run a slip joint on the steering shaft or you would get the column in your chest my rack is mounted to the axle so it moves up and down so something has to absorb the movement, mine has worked fine all these years i just add a little WD40 on the slip joint .
I tried that with mine when it was stock and had the same problem but I found that the Electric would not work because there's a check valve at the mechanical pump that won't let it thru
I am researching a Disc brake conversion for my 48 Desoto. Is your master cylinder under the floor? I need to keep my clutch pedal. is you set power also?
I know me if I make one it will weight about 30 pounds. Any information would be of great help.
