  1. Those parts look great, but I just can't identify them without the rust. Ha ha
  2. I have installed new master cylinder, all brake cylinders and brake lines, pedal is still gummy and goes to floor. No leaks present and reservoir full of fluid. Any ideas or are these brakes just a terrible design? Thanks
  3. Dodging the snow.
  4. I have these rims on my '29 Ford. I agree they are dangerous if treated recklessly, but if respected and treated with proper safety precautions, no issues. I put 6000 miles on my 29 a year and no issues. Best of luck.
  5. When I purchased my truck it was in pieces, now as it is going back together, I need help locating where the terminal wiring blocks go. All the pictures of engine compartments block the view due to radiator. I have mounted them on the spalash pans where the hood latch hooks are located, Is this correct?
  6. Back when I worked at a Buick dealership in my high school days 1970's, I would ask mechanics about torque specs and they would tell me "tight-tight". Sorry not a technical term but that was what they used.
  7. Merle, you nailed it. I dumped some marvel mystery oil into vacuum tube, let it work for a couple hours, man the wipers fly. Now I noticed on arm is broken. Any help with replacement? Thanks again all, Motor runs, wipers run, next is to refit fenders.
  8. Reg, what is that spring on the upper part of throttle linkage going to passenger side fender wall? Does the carb need both or is that a safety? In Reg's case he only has the one and the other pics does not show Reg's spring. How many Springs do I need? Is there a drawing, I can't find one. Thanks
  9. Thanks guys this all helps a lot. Now why does that linkage shaft have a spring wrapped around it. I have just not sure what it is designed to absorb. Thanks
  10. Ok, so I have it running but have no fenders or pans attached. When I got the truck, there was not a carb attached and therefore no spring. What kind of spring an I looking for? I have one jury rigged up but I am sure there is a specification for it. The harder the spring, the harder I push on the pedal, so looking for partnumber or source. I have seen some real long ones on YouTube video, just wanting to know what is correct. Thanks
  11. Won't get back to the truck for a week, a continent away, but thanks for the advice. I will post results next week. Thanks
  12. Ok so as I announced the other day my B2B has fired up for the first time. Things looking good oil at 80 psi, idles nice. So I tried the wipers. How do the work? I am used to my '29 ford with a hand crank. So I turn the knob which is centered to the right and the wipers go to the right. Then stop. I turn to the left. They go to the left then stop. Is this normal. If so not much of an upgrade from '29, ha ha.
  13. So I had a great day, fired up the B2B for the first time since I owned it. Roared right to life. Now I installed new radiator but as I added coolant, I discovered a leak at the nose of the water pump. Probably a bad seal on the empeller shaft. Looked to rebuild but Andy B wants $49 for a kit and I can buy a new pump with gaskets for 52.. are the new castings so bad that this is a mistake?
  14. I get mine through napa, my '29 ford AA and the dodge B2B use same battery. Can't tell you how long I've had them but been quite a while. Trickle charge when parked keeps everyone happy, even the boat deep cells. Short money for guaranteed start.
  15. I noticed one on my p24, and couldn't figure out how it got in there either. Wire seemed no worse for wear, is it brass? Thanks for the insight.
  16. Fernando, I don't speak Carter carburetor language, where do I find info on pump rod and metering rod adjustment? Thanks
  17. Should I see a puddle of gas in my intake manifold?
  18. Still trying to get this engine to start. I have a B2B with a 218. Compression is 70 psi across all six. Static timed it at TDC, verified with metal rod in hole at #6 along with closing of intake valve on #1. The distibutor is at 7 o'clock, the points just open per test light. I then look into the carburetor and see puddle of gas laying at the base of intake manifold, should that be there? I have removed carb cleaned out gas. Recharging battery waiting to retry. Any advice?
  19. Dave, I think cables are poor, will upgrade and retry. Thanks
  20. I tore the engine down, B2B 1/2 ton 218, hone the cylinders and replaced the rings, got it all back together and it is hard cranking. I have oil flowing, correct timing, I just feel that cranking so slow won't build up necessary compression to get the fuel into the chamber to fire. I do get an occasion pop from a cylinder firing but nothing continuous. Help!! Oh it is a 6volt system.
  21. Yes at 2 o'clock on your distributor picture
  22. I need the rubber isolator piece that fits into side of distributor to keep the distrbutor plate from arching onto distributor body. Any source.
  23. When I crank over my 1950 B2B, 218, T142, the speedometer needle goes from zero to 70 and then falls back to zero. What am I missing here? Thanks
  24. ok I think I got it figured out. That tiny c clip at the top of the distributor hold enough pressure on cam plate to keep in sync'd with distributor shaft. Where can I find one. Does anyone use mitchell mopar?
  25. Yes the stop plate moves but with the shaft and not independent of it. Mine has freedom to move independent of the shaft, not good since timing will be wrong if at all.
