  1. My son, recent electrical engineer is tasked with solving this issue. Any insight and direction is respected, valued and appreciated. You guys are good!!
  2. I am trying to get my fuel sending unit and my fuel gauge to talk to each other. I have a B2B 6V Pos Ground. Lets start simple. I have a NOS gauge from Vintage I want to bench test. I have new wiring from Rhode Island wire. I have a new tank from Tanks Inc and their Mopar fuel sending unit. So I have wired the left side of fuel gauge to ignition switch and the right side of switch to the fuel sender in tank. The fuel sender is grounded to the frame. I measure 3.7 volts at the fuel sender at the tank. The gauge is on emplty and the tank is half full. How do I bench test the gauge, I have a 6 Volt bench power supply that I can tune to what ever voltage 0-15V. Thanks in advance for your help and support.
  3. Yes swapped them out with jeep rims. I am having originals repaired for future use. Thanks
  4. John, I like the idea, everything else I can confirm performance on, condenser not so much. Thanks
  5. Torqczar, Coil Out put, I did remove coil wire and put it near head and got blue spark at turn over. You say lift the coil wire up 1/2" from coil? so still in coil socket just not bottomed out? When I release rev'd throttle goes back to idle. Will idle all day long. As I go through gears 1st is ok, 2nd is dogged and 3rd if I baby it will get up some speed. Run great in reverse. I think this is due to gear ratio is lower for reverse than 1st, so doesnt require as many rpm. Is this true?
  6. Torqczar, great questions. After warm up choke all in no need for choke. If I pull out choke after warm up engine splitters. Air cleaner has been off for two months. Plenty of fuel squirt as I move throttle. Compression checked cold 85-90 psi for all 6 cylinders. New plugs. Starts up fine, as I rev engine loses power and splitters, even a backfire or two. If I accelerate slowly revs up but if I punch it, she dies down. Wish I could post a video.
  7. Don, sure saw your post before.what about the spring above rod 14-14-3? I do think vacuum advance could be an issue, but for now need the throttle body spring. I got 14-06-1 from classic dodge but no mention of throttle body spring, is it the same?
  8. Springs matter. I start playing with carb spring and accelerator pedal spring. What a difference. Suddenly I have power and acceleration. But still intermittent. Does the two spring have to be the same.
  9. My b2b 218 starts and idle well. It revs ok, when I manually turn throttle, when I use foot pedal, I get popping and hesitations. I starting to think carb linkage or springs are causing the issue. Stumped..
  10. So I am in test ride mode. The engin runs smooth under idle. I can reeve it up to high RPM. I put it in gear and I throttle down and the response is not very impressive. I do get some sputter. I dont get any of this at idle and high throttle. So what have I not tuned correctly? Clutch and pressure plate are new, drive shaft and rear all good, transmission rebuilt three speed no issues. HELP.
  11. I bought the Shackles from RockAuto for 65 Wiley's Jeep as recommended. I need to replace both rear shackles so I bought left and right hand thread. Do the go on like the lug nut left hand on drivers side and right hand on passenger side. The question then is why? Do they really back off if mismatched? Thanks
  12. I have the passenger side visor, but my wipers are vacuum, maybe due to age. Did these have deluxe chrome emblems on the hood?
  13. Merle, So what other features do the Delux cab have? I have the seat cushion adjuster, Radio, and heat. If this is all extra, I am starting to feel spoiled.
  14. Merle, thanks. So I need a junk rusted out custom door that I can get my vent parts off of. Now I know what I need. Thanks.
  15. So when I bought my truck, the passenger door has an operating vent window and the drivers side has no vent at all, just regular glass. So my b2b was built in 1950. Was either stock? Can you put a vent into a door that had no vent? Thanks
  16. Sorry for confusion, I don't actually have one, but was wondering about them. I grabbed the picture off the web, as an example. I don't plan to add one to my truck. As I have a B2B
  17. I often see pilot house trucks with sun visors and was wondering if it was dealer stock or after market. Do they apply to all years, would you see bolt holes on your truck if it had one at one time? Do they work?
  18. Well switched black and yellow wire position on dimmer, bingo, now I have high and low beams. Thanks to all for all the help.
  19. I bought the dimmer NOS in the original box, real clean, still wrapped in oily paper. I will test it for continuity. As for wiring the dimmer, I have four wires going to it, does anyone have the diagram. I have the red and orange wires going to a ganged up daul post and the yellow and black are isolated.
  20. I have recently purchased some 6006H headlights from Napa, thinking they we dual beam. When installed, I get low beam and when I press on light switch I get no lights. Does anyone know if these are indeed dual beam? Napa couldn't tell me for sure but said they sell them all the time..Thanks
  21. All of the clothing catalogs I see have distressed trucks and cars in them. Keep it real, new paint is for those who put bodies on new frames. Old frame old body, old paint. Hit the rusty spots with CLR and let the rest shine through. You'll get more curb appeal with original than redone. Just sayin. Best of luck.
