Lotta clutch tales... I had to do the "trooper start" business with my old VW fastback. The hook on the clutch pedal assy that pulls the cable was worn and just broke off. Not the first or last time for the trooper trick. I somehow made it across Fresno (at night) and at least 24 intersections were involved. I remember telling my dad that I blew the clutch in his pickup, and it wasn't until I got it all apart that I found I had actually broken a rear axle shaft. The power-loc differential was actually able to get the truck home with one axle but it felt like a badly slipping clutch in motion. The hydraulic clutch on our Scouts used brake fluid, same as the brakes. Damn clutch slave cylinders kept leaking so I put jack fluid in the clutch. It never leaked after that. Why the clutch always leaked & the brakes never did I can't fathom. (BTW, Don't ever put jack fluid in your brakes unless it's an emergency. It'll make seeping brakes stop leaking, but it boils too easily when hot. Also it may eat up the seals eventually.)

We have one at work. I think they're better in cold climates. I dunno but they eventually ended up putting in Insta-Hot tankless heaters at every sink.

Basically we'll pay more for a smaller one that fits, or buy a bigger one that costs even more. I've wanted to put aux. tankless heaters in my kitchen and master bath, as they are far from my tank. It takes too long to get hot water when you just want to wash the hands. That's my greatest efficiency issue now.

That IHC looks like a '68. I had a '61 which had stacked headlights like the '59 had.

Oh sure. I just have to move a few things around. I'm re-wiring the garage & everything's a mess right now.

This is no hostage situation, but at this point I wouldn't turn down a fueled helicopter and a bag full of money if offered... Anyhow Here is not where I'm trying to get away from. It's where I try to get away to. ...but you won't catch me browsing the posts on a phone.

I like that photo because you can see the fake exhaust pipes and yet the real one is visible underneath. LOL

OH, man P.A. A couple years back I did the remodel drawings for the old Rambler dealership building, which is now an auction house. (Same auction house where I bought my torches.) They scrapped out a complete Hunter alignment rack from the 50's, and filled in the pit. I don't think they even tried to auction it off, which I thought strange. It just went for scrap metal, of which there was a lot.

Google is evil but I still don't hate Google as much as I hate Dell. I'll get drunk some time and tell you all why. I kinda hate "smartphones" too and I don't own one. I spend my whole life with PC's and when I'm not on one I want to be offline. Totally off. Away and gone. 100% downtime. Incommunicado. I don't want to squint at a little tiny baby PC. I just don't get this idea where people want to be "always connected", while I'm trying so hard to "get away from it all".

That's looking pretty spiffy P.A. The weather, and my job, have been keeping me indoors a lot. No work is getting done on the cars or bike or boat. My Plymouth is outside under tarps, in pieces. Pieces are also in the garage. Pieces are in the Scout. Pieces are in my trailer. Pieces are under the boat. LOL Mostly I've been working on my computer work bench and re-wiring the garage lighting for LED can lights in the ceiling it doesn't have yet. And I'm fixing my benches up. After 12.5 years in this house I finally have a bench in the garage where I can fix computers and do electrical work. Right now it's half occupied by 3 computers in various states. The other half holds the Plymouth dash, still completely wired. I loosened the other ends of the wires and cables, and took the dash out completely intact, except for the glove box liner. (That makes it lots easier to study how the dash was wired.)

What it is is unbelievably cool. I am awestruck.

Hey, I'd like a set to carry on my bike. I remember having to ride miles on a muddy road bed while road construction was going on, and a set of ordinary zip ties would have made for a lot of traction in a very slick situation.

Hey you east-coasters! Your monopoly on weather is over. My Lord! It's actually raining in Fresno! In fact we've had a 1/2" since yesterday AM and my boss had over an inch at his place. Hallelujah! It's still drizzling so I won't be skating today; or doing or much else except getting the submittal ready for the new CHP HQ & garage. We're sending it to the state architect today. Now if I can get some new school drawings in and approved for Visalia, I might just get a well deserved breather here. We've been working a lot of long hours + Saturdays lately, and while it's not unusual for us to do OT, I need a real break. Anyhow I'm praying for more rain here, less there, but hoping it'll keep coming in moderate amounts.

I have a puller of that style, and IMO it was not the best choice for a 4.5" bolt circle. On the Plymouth it was "cramped", and though it works, getting a perfect alignment and maintaining it was not easy with the legs pulled all the way in. I built one that fits better, from a steel plate and a big nut & bolt, plus 5 long bolts. It's not adjustable though. I'd have to drill more holes to fit a different bolt circle; and it only works if you have lug bolts rather than wheel studs with nuts.

The C.G. looks uncomfortably high on that Rooskie air buggy.

I have never been a Mercedes fan, and that stinky old diesel just reinforces my prejudice. Yuck.

We never get that kind of weather here. I don't miss it either. Bad weather that is. If I wasn't strapped to the desk this week I'd be out trying to find some water to fish in.

Yeah that's a bit overboard with the spikes. I had 6 chrome "bullets" on the trunk lid of my old Ford coupe. The garnish was missing & I had already painted the car, so I couldn't fill the 6 holes. I think I used Cal Custom chromed (plastic) valve stem covers with little stove bolts threaded into the back. I thought it looked pretty cool, but I was about 17 then.

The middle top one looks like a tie rod adjuster & I think the top left one is a ring groove cleaner. The "lubroclamp" is interesting. I wonder what it clamps to?

That actually seems a nice, sleek design for a Soviet, except where they blew it on the lower door hinges.

We're getting zip here. They expect this to be the worst drought here in 100 years.
