    Any body running George Ashe dual carbs? I am interested in the performance or advantage of them or how it affects the gas mileage. I would suppose you would need to open the exhaust also.They look cool!! Thanks Robin

    VPW are sending me a new set they said that's not right. Also heard that's a coating to be clean off with solvent . I never ran across that before.. Drifter

    Went to install my rod bearing there TRW in seal boxes. They feel like there very gritting almost like 320 grit. Question is are they coated with something I shot some WD40 on them seam like it help some I didn't want to scrub to hard. My main being were nice and smooth. Thanks for any imfo. Robin

    I have always painted my wheels Almond . I've had trucks red,blue,orange did them all got some laughs and some thumbs up, I like to make people laugh. With the grill on my 48 I am thinking chrome wheels either way I'll get some laughs and some thumbs up . Nice truck you got there. Drifter

    Thats what was thinking Dave just thought I would throw all the variables out there. The retourque must not have been done the gaskets seem fairly new. Thanks

    The connecting rod in my #1cylinder has #3 stamp on it the rest of the cylinders are correct. My question is can you swap odd for odd even for even rods to cylinders, evidently some one has been in it. The head gasket was blown between #1and number #2 cylinders when I got the engine don't know if that has ant correlation . Thanks for any input. Robin

    I just tried yesterday but the seal I got from Andy was to big perturbed off the cap on both ends. Sending me a rope seal guess I'll try that.

    Scored,,,I put a wanted add on CL a man called me last night about 6 said he had one $150:00 2 hours away. I jump in the truck and was home by 10 with it. That might be a good way of getting one let them come to you. Just a thought I wanted to pass on to help..

    Didn't see one in Daytona to be had either. Guess I'am going to run the 3 speed with the 3:55 rear shouldn't be to bad..

    Just returned from the run only saw one PH truck it had a v8 ,front clip but was really nice looking truck and a good guy to talk to. I ask him about the 230 flatty said he tried to sell it got no calls and scraped it. If your looking for one you can't find it if you got one you can't sell it what's up with that. Got some goodies for my project so it's back to the garage . Just finished smoothing my fire wall welded 37 holes shut kept the big one or the harness. Should finish my disk brakes today them putting the engine together just got my cam from George Ashie. Off to the garage,,Robin

    The axel on top of the springs is almost 6 inches i'll be putting a c notch in it. Thanks or the imfo on the front springs I was experimenting with what will work. Might go back to full springs and add a drop axel the truck is apart so it's still thought in progress. Any input is alway welcome and appreciated ..Drifter

    How did you go about lowering your truck? I just installed a jeep axel on top of the springs and it squatted it, maybe to much. I took 3 springs out of the front . The truck is apart engines out so won't know how is sits for a while. Drifter

    If the speedo is not the concern what years t5 would fit? I have been hunting 82-87 with little luck. I am finishing up installing a 3:55 out of a 1996 jeep so I was thinking the speedo wouldn't be correct anyway so i am going off a Tac or speed. I am heading to Daytona Turkey run next week maybe one to be had there. Hoping to see some PH trucks also !!

    MB. I was thinking the same thing I am in VA got a small farm with fire pit by the creek very secluded. Plenty of space to park ,camp or local do drops inns 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I can't cook though, crap

    Very nice truck you got there, i am in the proceeds of front dic,rear jeep axel 3:55 and putting the engine together.Its a good time hunting down the parts and seeing progress. The guys on here are very helpful and will tolerate novice questions! Drifter

    Jokes on me it ended up being a 4 speed. But I had all the right tools with all the wrong names with me, Finding a trans 20 mies from the house was I dreaming search goes on. Drifter

    Sat morning and I am off to pull the tranny had a good rain here in VA last night so that helps with laying on the ground . Update coming!!
