  1. Wow, that was fast service! If the oil pan isn't effected by the cradle, that's even better. Information on the pilot house forum..............priceless!
  2. Thanks guys, I'm not familiar enough with the L6 to know that some are rear sump and that is a big help. It appears that most of these swaps include changing the motor out also and I was hoping someone had already done the heavy lifting keeping the stock engine. Tim the pics would be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. Has anyone done a volare ifs and retained the stock flathead? It seems to me that the front sump oil pan and the volare cross member are a problem. Perhaps there is a rear sump substitute. Gary
  4. Right hand drive?
  5. Check on the drivers side frame rail forward of the axle
  6. Does moving the shackle mount up interfere with the underside of the bed? Could the mount be moved down and the shackle flipped to get the same result?
  7. Is your pinion angle still correct? Another way to lower the front axle is to reverse the spring eyes on the top leaf and remove a leaf or two. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90824&highlight=reverse+your+own+spring+eyes Here is a link to the HAMB that shows a nice homemade jig to do your own springs.
  8. I don't know if it works, the truck is not running and am in the process of trying to start it. The PO says it ran when they parked it 28 years ago. It has the blower motor in it and the heating core. We'll see.
  9. Hey guys, recently acquired a 1953 1/2 ton that had this heater. It is not the mopar unit I've seen in other trucks, so is it an off brand? The two triangular doors open to allow heated air into the cab. Any help in identifying it would be helpful. Thanks, Gary
  10. I emailed Sid and he had the axle for the dodge but wasn't sure if the blocks (he did have them) would be needed.
  11. The dropped axle would lower the stance 3'' and not affect suspension travel. I would still have the option of removing a leaf to soften the ride and lower the truck further.
  12. Hey guys, I have a b4b am considering putting a dropped axle in (Sid's). Does anyone have experience with this and perhaps other issues (clearance, steering etc). Thanks, Gary
  13. Looking to do the same to my 53 dodge truck. What type of mounts did you use from Tractor Supply?
