  1. Ed Spiegel's booth I suspect ? Dodge Motorhome behind the booth ?
  2. ok.. I chimed in and tried to focus on what the original poster was looking for and the comments about two ball & ball carbs being to much.
  3. lol.. answer: yes. that is however a tiny piece of a much bigger puzzle. The point that was made at one point was that two carter ball and ball carbs is too much for the engine in question. To that question my point was no its not. In fact 3 carbs can provide better fuel distribution into the 3 Siamese ports. But to your point, you are correct in principle. But to add to the mixture here, what fuel, what octane, what all is in the fuel etc etc, all plays a factor and it can lead to a huge amount of variables. But back to simplifying things for the average hobbyist without access to a lot of equipment. Dual carbs and dual exhaust, with a pair of appropriate carter ball and ball carbs, can go a long way to improving a flathead mopar over stock. Its why mopar did it on the 265 ci Dodge trucks, and if you put slightly smaller carbs than the big truck carbs, for a 230 or USA small block it can be quite effective.
  4. which carter ball and ball carbs do you have ? Given there is a huge huge range in the carter ball and ball carb lineup and Tom is well aware of that, it would be odd he would say that was too much carburetion if he had just the information you have posted. In fact I would go as far to say if you had a pair of some carter ball and balls you wouldn't have enough carburetion. I will attach my cheat sheet with a great deal of the more common carter b&b carbs. Tim Dodge knowledge document - plymouth and dodge-fargo truck carbs.doc
  5. Howdy Folks - Well while we are awaiting the first lot of intakes to be cast George has been busy working on various linkage combinations. Here is the 1st look close up of the finished prototype AoK dual carb intake for 23 1/2" USA flathead mopars. This one has - prototype linkage being developed for trucks or 1933-1938 Cars Notice the left carb linkage bar has been cut short, and is not hooked to the left carb. That is strictly for prototype purposes It shows how the serial number and linkage block provides the spot for stock linkage components to be mounted and then integrated with the new AoK linkages. You will notice for this version we are using the outside "wings" to linkeage mounts on the outside. For newer cars where we want the linkage rail mounted on the inside the inside "wings" will be used and the outside block will just be the serial number plate. Of course the final linkage for older cars and trucks, will have a longer linkage bar and the same connection to the carb as you will see on the right carb. Of course on the carbs you will see a mounting spot for cars and for trucks. They actually connect in two different spots. I can tell you George has the linkage working perfectly. You would just use your stock brackets for trucks and older car applications and the AoK linkage will just integrate with it to give you the desired upgrade from the single to dual carbs. Oh yes, and hot debate on the name.. Our original intent was to have the writing read from the passenger side although you may notice it was reversed to be read from the other side. Oh and the cat is out of the bag, as the prototype wasn't supposed to have the name on it yet.. lol.. so lets say George was a little surprised as he didn't authorize his name on it.. That one I own although he smirked and lets just say he appreciates the tribute! so the "AoK George Asche Jr Ltd Ed" intake development is pretty much complete.
  6. Lol... that is a 1st. No one has ever asked us to sign anything except a cheque! We can definitely autograph them, or just have George autograph them, just whatever you like. We will send you the shipping cost estimate early next week, although while we can set aside the AoK triple and linkage for you right now, we will let you know when we get the 1st batch of intakes in our hands and on their way to be machined. At that point, you can send us payment! We just want to make sure we have the small block AoK dual intake in our hand before we get people sending payments ! Hope that makes sense. Thanks again for your interest and as per your note question, lol I can guarantee they will perform well on the wall.. lol.. Although I cant guarantee your wife wont question why you paid all that money for wall hangers! Tim
  7. Cool.. yes that Nicson and the early carbs is an incredible set.. I have you marked down for serial #13 if I remember correctly... lol Will let you know when they are finished and off to the machine shop for machining.. Then the big challenge being, what great project is going to be the deathbound AoK intake holder ? Tim
  8. Hi Paul and Dave.. Paul.. your likely right on the shipping.. You can send the $75 and we will send you back any difference or later this week we should have a shipping number for either an intake or intake and linkeage... or the whole package.. I will send you a note directly.. Dave.. yes sir, the early bird got the worm, as George has sold more carbs so for this year than likely the last 3 years combined, so he does a few to build up, but definitely we would be able to supply carbs for all the intakes we have interest in. But for sure your on the list for the 1st batch Tim
  9. Well folks its back from the machine shop and for the last prototype before production it is awesome! Here are a couple of pictures.. The intake is designed to be able to accommodate a linkage bar on the inside or outside of the intake, as well as a casted section for truck usage, which will double as a spot for a serial number. We will try and early this week get an eta on getting the 1st batch, as well as George will make up a set of linkage and we will try and get a shipping price for anywhere in the USA. Shipping to other locations we will have to get the shipping estimate on a case by case basis. Its been a long time coming folks, but it is ever so close ! Thanks for everyone's interest and patience! Tim
