  1. Hi Everybody, I'm in Simi Valley, CA and I've had my 48 Ply for over 25 years. I've driven it to San Francisco, San Diego, Lake Havasau, Santa Maria(POC Nationals) and just about every weekend. I just love to Drive it! With the 53 Plymouth overdrive it will cruise all day long. I think it would be great to have some kind of event/tour for us Old Plymouth owners. Ernie Baily
  2. According to the ad it was a Artic Gray in color. It sounds like yours is the original color. I guess the gray is a nuetral color, so it would look OK with any color car. When I bought mine it didn't have the support rod, so I just used flat steel and bent it accordingly and used felt on the end that slipped between the window glass and door.
  3. I bought mine at a swap meet for $35.00. I went to various car shows and found another on a car, so Took a photo of the logo and reproduced it though the graphics dept where I worked at the time( I have some extra silk screened decals too!) I wanted more info so I reserched the name and found out it is now Thermador WasteKing who make garbage disposals. I asked if they had a Archives and was told NO, but there was a old guy that has worked their forever and was the company history guy. Well I spoke to him and he sent me a copy of an old ad. This is all I have on them. I hope it helps!
  4. Hello everyone! It looks like it was a Great Tour and Event! After viewing the photos I'm even more sorry that I wasn't able to drive my 48 Ply 2dr sedan and attend the event. Thanks for the photos! Ernie
  5. Well, I just was attemping to test the set of gauge & sender as extras, however the spare gauge I have only goes up to 3/4 full when I connect the spare sender is at full. I cleaned and tightened the connections on the gauge & sender in the car, but the gauge only reads 1/4 full.So I believe the wires are OK! I just filled the tank yesterday. The sender in the car is original when I bought the car over 25yrs ago. The other sender works some of the time intermittenly. I'm not sure If the extra gauge is 100% good/NOS, I bought it some time ago and don't remember its status. I guess I should buy one of the senders from Roberts or should I have my orig. sender rebuilt? At least I'll then know if the sender is good. The other Idea is just send the extra gauge & sender out to be rebuilt or checked and install them when they are done. Am I correct in assuming the gauge and the sender are grounded thru their mounting screws?
  6. I need recomendations on where to send my 48 Plymouth in dash gauge & tank sending unit for repair. Thanks, Ernie Baily
  7. Hi, Here is a pic of my 48 Plymouth 2dr Sedan just after I got it painted about 20yrs ago. I went to my local auto paint supplier and match a orig. swatch to their new colors. It matched up to a Ditzler #71965 "Dr Pepper Maroon" (see attached). Good Luck!
  8. Hello, Does anyone have any info regarding if the hood light was a true option or not? Also, How how do I make one for my 48 Ply. I want to do a Red light to make mine "Rudolph the red nose Plymouth" since mine is Suemac Red! Thanks, Ernie Baily
  9. Hi Tony, I'm planning on removing my tank on my 48 Ply to have it repaired. However about 18yrs ago I used a "Slushing compound" and it coated the internal filter/pickup. I then cut the tube to the intank pickup/filter and it works now, however when the gas level gets below the inlet on the side of the tank it runs out of gas with still about 6-7 gal in the tank. Have you or anyone else run into this ? Has anyone restored/replaced the intank pickup/filter? Can anyone recomend a vendor that could repair the tank and repair the intank pickup/filter? Thanks, Ernie Baily Simi Valley, Ca
  10. I'll be attending on Sunday, I was going to drive my 55 Dodge but the engine not quite done so I'll take my 48 Plymouth 2dr sedan, I'll also be helping Aaron Kalenberg with the judging. I assume we need more judges, anyone attending look us up! Ernie Baily
  11. Here is my Dodge, which really is my everyday driver. The engine(270 Hemi) is about finished, Trans has been rebuilt, Disc brakes on the front, all new wiring & converted to 12volt, Classic Auto Air rear unit, Interior is partly done. I just love driving both the Plymouth and the Dodge(just like my first car)
  12. Hi, I've had this idea for a few years and have been wanting to do this, but I don't know Photoshop! A friend at work did this for me! Now I have to come up with a Idea so I can use my Black 55 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer for next Year. Right now I'm using my Plymouth(since May) as my everyday driver. I'm almost done rebuilding the Dodges 270 Hemi. Luckly I live in Simi Valley, CA and the weather is pretty good and I'm only about 15min from work!
  13. Hello everyone, I just wanted to show off my Plymouth dressed for Christmas and also show off my Plymouth Christmas card. I started with a 1947 Plymouth ad and dropped in pics of myself and family and of course my Plymouth. I had a friend do the photoshop work and then had Kinkos print them. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
