  4. My experience with my P12 is the same as Ed's. I was able to connect the original and it worked but it was very tight and I ended up replacing it with one for the overdrive transmission. Jim Yergin
  5. I had to remove material from the calipers to get my 15" original wheels to fit on an Explorer rear end with disc brakes. I have since gone with Explorer rear drums. Jim Yergin
  6. Purchased a container of cleaning solution specifically designed for clocks and watches that I found on line. I submerged the mechanism in the solution and let it sit there until clean. I then lubricated it with special clock oil. I also cleaned the contact points. Jim Yergin

  8. I would adjust the selector rod on the transmission. It is the one with the spring and the nut on it. Probably needs to be tightened. Jim Yergin

I am not sure but I believe the P-15 clock is taller than the P-12 and that I have been told that to fit the P-15 clock in the P-12 dash you might be able to remove the trim piece shown at the bottom of the P-12 clock in the picture you posted. BTW, that picture sure looks like my dash and my clock in my P-12. Can you ask the seller of the P-15 clock to provide dimensions and compare it to the opening in your dash? Jim Yergin

  13. Lloyd, Here are pictures of my carb and the kick-down switch. I actually don't use it. I use a switch on the end of my shift lever. If you wanted to keep your carb, I would think you could do the same. You might want to call George Asche about the carb. Jim Yergin
  14. The carb on my 1941 P12 would not allow the installation of the kick-down switch when I installed an o/d transmission. I ended up using a carb from a P15 that I got from George Asche. Jim Yergin

  16. Looks great Bob. With my '41 woodie with O/D the road noise at 65 drowns out the creaking wood. Going 65 is not a problem, it is having decent brakes to stop from that speed is what I found important. Jim Yergin

  18. Yesterday, Joe Flanagan drove out from Alexandria, Virginia to my home in Warrenton, Virginia in his 1949 Plymouth. It was a real treat to see Joe's car back on the road after all these years and to get a chance to ride in it. Joe has done a great job on restoring what was a real wreck. I have a personal interest in it too since I donated the block Joe used to rebuild the engine. It was a fun morning riding in each other's cars and spending time with a really nice guy.   20. I found and fixed the problem. The ECI pivot bar I have in the car had become misaligned with the brake pedal pushrod keeping the pedal from moving freely all the way back to rest. Got it aligned and the pedal returns fine now. Jim Yergin
  21. It is a "kick down" switch that allows you to drop into the lower gear on your semi-automatic transmission without having to floor the accelerator pedal. Jim Yergin

  23. Thanks for all the suggestions. My return spring is there but maybe it has lost some strength. I will check it out. The thing is the pedal returns just about to the free play outer limit, just enough to keep the mechanical brake light switch on. Makes it easy to run down the battery if I don't remember when I stop and leave the car. Jim Yergin
  24. The brake pedal on my '41 Plymouth is not returning all the way back after I let up on the pedal. It comes back about 90% of the way and seems to "catch" and I have to pull it back the rest of the way. The brakes engage and release fine otherwise. Any suggestions I what I should be looking at?
