  1. Welcome.......very nice '38 P5.......I have it's brother-a P6. Pics with hood sides off for access at the time. I'm working on a lot of the mods your car has...hopefully done soon.
  2. Where in Ca. & what was the name of the shop?
  3. Great idea/thread. I have a Plymouth 1936-1942 master parts list book & will help out whenever possible, though, I'm not on as often as some of the regulars.

Why are your "n" & "d" still right side up??????
  5. I don't know the answer to your question, but can anyone tell me if it comes apart to install the plug wires or do you have to run the plug wires through it, then install the ends/boots?
  6. Also try: http://www.ynzyesterdaysparts.com/
  7. I think he's asking about heads. Edgy makes them, don't know much about them though.
  8. I want to see pics.....a lot of them. Welcome from soggy So Cal.
  9. I want to see pics also. I got my HEI a couple months ago, but haven't got around to installing it yet. Would also like to know what it's set at.
  10. What is the part# of that stud/nut kit from VPW (Vintage Power Wagons??)? Bob, thanks for the pics. When I recently changed my intake/exhaust manifolds, I installed the slotted nuts the way they came off & after seeing the pics, now realize they were/are backwards.
  11. Made it through ok here in Long Beach, except every time the dogs (2 Mastiffs) went out, they'd bring half the backyard in with them it's so saturated. Any pics of your "situation"? Hope it turns out all right. Landscater got a lot of rain.
  12. You can't really tell how much damage there is until you see the side view pic.....crazy.
  13. Way out of my price range!
  14. Not saying this is wrong since there's more than 1 way to skin a cat, but when I've replaced glass/new rubbers, I've done it the opposite way pushing from the outside-pulling the rope inwards. I was worried about pulling the exterior side of the rubber past the pinch weld & scarring it.
  15. Just ended.....$889.00.....must be gold plated model.
  16. Any pics & a part#? I need one also & may be similar for my 38.
  17. "IF" the only difference between the 201 & 230 flywheel is the 4 bolts vs. 8 bolts, couldn't you just drill the other 4 holes or have a machine shop do it?
  18. Just ended @$1,500.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Saw 2 1948 Plymouth's on ebay on 1 auction (don't know how to post a link-a little computer challenged) so here's the item#170569537307. Thought somebody on here might be interested. I do not know the seller-just passing the info.
  20. There's a guy on ebay. I don't know how to post a link, but search this item#330485004754 on ebay. Looks like he repops dash knobs.
  21. Thanks again Big John, what gauge for the "A" terminal from genny to reg...same as the field? Alan, thanks for the heads up. I will confirm all connections from what I labeled to the wiring diagram from my service manual.
  22. That's the case with the wires currently in my car. The colors of the wires in the harness I'm installing/altering is very good & legible. Thanks Big John, I looked more closely at the harness I'm going to use & see exactly what your talking about. This info helps a lot. I have to make a new harness from the dimmer switch to the headlights-what gauge was used? Somebody had used what looks like lamp cord or speaker wire to replace a couple of those wires. Also, what gauge is used for the wires from the generator to the voltage regulator?
  23. I'm in the process of re-wiring my 38 Plymouth P6 Coupe. I have the B&W wiring diagram in the service manual & one of those large laminated color wiring diagrams from that on-line auction site. Both of those call-out or show the same colors used for each wire, but my original wiring/harness is different. What I mean is, the diagrams both show only solid color wires without tracers (dashed white or black threads) in the cloth covering as in my original wires. I'm labeling EVERY wire before I disconnect it from it's terminal. Has anybody else experienced this or am I just crazy? I forgot to mention, I have a complete harness in very nice condition from a 38 Plymouth sedan that I'm using & will have to alter/add a few wires to make it work. Thanks for any input.
  24. Hey Andy, I've seen yours & farmer12's coupes on the HAMB....both very nice & different examples of a 41 Ply Coupe. Followed his build thread from day 1....quality work.
  25. Can't help with the cause of the oil leak. I couldn't find a readily available gasket for my fuel pump, so I bought a sheet of Fel-Pro gasket material @NAPA & used the old one as a template & no leak.
