  1. Yup...I have one of those manifolds too. ( Down Boy Ed) I have not gotten a round tuit yet ( help Bob T ) but it will eventually get installed in my 38 D8 Coupe. Both carbs pictured require linkage that will pull back to open the throttle. Haven't figured that out yet cause the coupe linkage pushes forward to open the 1 bbl throttle now.
  2. Here's another 42 Jon. This one does have the suicide doors. This must be the week for 42's http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300128347415&rd=1&rd=1
  3. Hey....... Yeah.....OK,maybe 3 or 4 K
  4. Hummmm.....wrong hood ornament too. Very tacky door panels. Exhaust manifold has been brazed up and the running boards are suppose to be black. No head liner. Looks like maybe 4 or 5 K to me if that's a quality paint job. Sorry guy.
  5. Eric Bannerman has a complete set on ebay right now. Reg http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-1950-Dodge-Pickup-Panel-Truck-Parking-Lights_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34207QQihZ005QQitemZ150134674960
  6. So Tim or you other guys. Is this the part I need? All of these seem to be for 3/16" lines and if I put this in line to my front brakes the lines to them are 1/4". Will I screw up it's finction if I adapt the 1/4" lines to it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270142585659&rd=1&rd=1
  7. I bought my first one in 1979 and I've been hooked ever since. I had a 48 1.5 ton in the mid 80's I used to haul my tractor to job sites with. I built a small motor home on a 52 3/4 ton and used for many years until the kids got too big. Been driving Ole Yeller,my present one,for about 10 years now. Tim or Jim or Bob.......where's the photos from your Friday visit? PS....I found the mustard and ketchup .....well my wife did.....after you guys left.
  8. Where did you find the floor mat? It looks like brown rubber. Beautiful car!
  9. "So I have to ask Reg, what do you have up front????? The factory single piston or "grandpa's git'er done" jobber, complete with dual piston rear brakes in the front??" Mine has the stock single cylinder up front 48dodger.... just like the one on the top left of Merle's photo.
  10. Hey:eek: .....I wonder if it would be possible for the front cylinders to have been put in backwards by me years ago when I rebuilt the system. Left one on the right making the big cylinder push on the wrong shoe. Does the bigger cylinder push on the front or rear shoe on the front brakes? I'll have to check that out tomorrow along with all the other great ideas suggested. Gotta throw some meat on the barbie today. HAPPY 4TH !
  11. Thanks 48 Dodger ! When will you be coming over to fix this problem? Where would I get a port valve? What does one look like? Hey, Jim and Bob...... a project for the 6th ?
  12. No Neck Gary, I have a right door. No dents and rust out free. I'm in Northern California. Where does your friend live? http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v154/olddodges1/Pilot%20House%20Trucks/?action=view&current=MVC-006F-3.jpg Reg
  13. If you could see my trucks skid marks you would see 2 long black parallel dotted lines created by me pulsing the pedal trying to keep the truck straight. If my rear brakes were working as much as the fronts I probably would not have done any skidding at all.
  14. Well...you're in luck with that problem Norm. There are eye doctors out there everware that can give you a temporary perscripton to stave off that problem. I've searched high and low in them yaller pages for an anti gravity doc to no avail. Weight!!!! Maybe under helium augmentation injections.
  15. Ya know Don...if I hadn't already discovered that the gravitational pull has gotten noticebly stronger since the new millennium I might have willingly dropped down on one knee to make my own appraisal of my 52 Burb.
  16. Louman, To begin with..... I'd just bleed the one cylinder and go for a spin. If ya find yourself bumping into ojects unintentionally then I'd bleed the rest .
  17. I'm leaning towards NEVER SQUEAK shoe goo myself. It'll stop ya on a dime......if ya buy the small tube.
  18. That's interesting. Why would a suburban fuel tank have less capacity than a sedan? Different rear ratio er what?
  19. I did a temporary fix to the sagging drivers side rear spring on my 40 Plymouth by adding an air shock on that side only. It was about 1.5" low on that side and it's even now with 60psi in the one shock. Rides better too. Now....where's my bailing wire? The muffler is sagging. This 40 is a very low mileage car with tight front end parts and is not affected by passenders like my higher mileage 35 Dodge is.
  20. You don't need to pull the steering wheel to get the horn wire out. Just push in hard on the horn button and turn counterclockwise ( or is it clockwise?) and the ring and button will pop off enabling you to pull the wire. WAIT !!!!! Before you pull the wire up and out of the steering wheel tube tape a piece of strong string on the end of the wire. When the wire has been repaired you can tie this string to the new wire and pull it back down the tube.
  21. My 35 Dodge Sedan does the same thing with 2 people in the back. I've always suspected worn out front end parts.
  22. In order to repair/splice the horn wire you'll probably need to remove the horn ring and button and pull the wire all the way out. To fill the steering box just remove the plug next to the adjusting nut and top it off. 90 weight should do it. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v154/olddodges1/Pilot%20House%20Trucks/?action=view&current=MVC-005F-3.jpg
  23. During lunch time I frequent a local gas station/mini mart. Not for gasoline, but for bean borrito and a coke. When I take the food up to the counter to pay the attendants always asks "any gas?" I usually respond "not yet ,but probably in an hour" bah dah boom!
  24. The front brakes and drums as well as the master cylinder are all stock 52 dodge 1/2 ton truck. This truck was drivin by me almost daily in my construction business up untill a few years ago. I installed the 66 T Bird rearend under it about 6 or 7 years ago. I guess I have been lucky over the years and never had to do a panic stop until recently. The smaller lines are on the T Bird rearend. Every line forward of the rear flex line is stock 1/4". The lines that go to the rear brakes are smaller 3/16" that came on the Ford rearend. Here's a photo of the truck. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v154/olddodges1/Plymouth%20show%2006/?action=view&current=OleYeller2.jpg
