  1. my 2¢ - I had my wheels PC - it's expensive and doesn't come in all colors. But it looks good.
  2. I got a flat tire - unlucky, but it happened on my drive way - lucky A friend came over to work on his car. Rather than start the Plymouth up to get it out of the garage my friend just pushed it. It was very quiet and as the car rolled back it sounded like it was dragging some thing. Rolled it back more and my friend said it sounded like a front wheel bearing. I started the car drove it on the lift but couldn't hear anything with the car running. Took the wheel and drum off - inside there was a broken brake spring. I have no idea how long it was broken but I am lucky I found it when I did. Called Bernbaum and will get 8 springs delivered. I think it would be uncomfortable to find that problem at 55 on the freeway 100 miles from home.
  3. Excellent car - great color. Very majestic. It's the perfect year for cars.
  4. I got the one on e bay but since I just put a new filter on so I think I'll wait for the next oil change before I put it on. It has brackets welded on; I don't know if it will fit but I can assure you IT WILL FIT.
  5. Mr. Shel, I bought the one on e bay. Thanks for the lead. I checked around auto parts stores and most didn't know what I was talking about. They tried to sell me an adapter for a screw on filter - probably would have worked but I like the one that looked a little more stock. thanks again, d-
  6. I have a 47 & 48 P15. The 47 has an insert oil filter but the 48 has a self contained canister. They are $40 on line and a pain in the butt to change. I've been looking around to find a holder that will accept a cheaper insert but I must be looking in the wrong places. When I was a kid we used to buy Fram oil containers that would take roll of toilet paper. I guess that was shown to be a faulty concept. But that's what I'm looking for. I'm not sure what they are called but Robertsons doesn't have any. I would appreciate any leads - thanks
  7. Okay - I am totally confused. I started reading this thread and was getting excited about the 2/2 meeting until I noticed the date was 2014. Now I see about something on Jan 17 but I'm not sure when or where. I'm there if someone will tell me the details. I met some great guys in Pasadena on 12/31. It was good to be around other MoPar people. After all these years I'm still not sure how the PM works. I will keep checking (I've left the 17th open). d-
  8. I think Felix Navy Dad is funny an clever - but what do I know?
  9. Jon - thank you for the offer. If you get all the names together I will get it from you on the 31st. Meanwhile I'll check out Kanter. thanks for the lead - I'm on it. d-
  10. I've been looking around for brakes. It seems all I can find is a la carte - does anyone sell kits with new springs, cylinders, shoes? Do these (stock P15) shoes have rivets? My 36 Chevy I could tell it was time for new shoes when the rivets began to appear. My next door neighbor was looking and said the shoes on my Plymouth should be replaced. They look good to me but I'm no pro. I guess it wouldn't hurt to stock up for when the day comes.
  11. The price is right - I'd like to see a picture when you get them
  12. I got them. From all places a hub cap place in Lancaster, CA. Here is the trick: 15" x 1 1/8" - they look great. I'll get a picture
  13. the picture without the rings is very attractive with the WWW but I don't have that. I'm looking for rings with a depth of 1". So far no luck.
  14. thanks for the picture - that is also very helpful for us visual learners.
  15. I worry because they don't tell what the depth is. I found a place that says they have 1 1/4". I'll call Monday. thanks for the info - it's what I'm looking for
  16. This has been sort of a merry go round ride. I had no idea such a simple task could turn out so wrong. I bought some rings on line, got them and they were beautiful (pix 1). They were too deep 1 3/4". Sent them back - they didn't have anything smaller. Searched around and found a set 1 1/2" - too deep by 1/4" - they just almost fit (pix 2). I don't know where to go to find the rings 1 1/4". This is getting silly. and I've already scratched up my power coated rims. I guess I'll keep looking.
  17. how very sad that we don't seem to learn from the past
  18. I don't know why I couldn't have been born with a skill and talent to do work like that instead of just being gorgeous.
  19. Great pix - thanks. Robin you are right. I can see they make the car go faster. The rings should be here Monday and then I will show off. I truly to enjoy this forum - it's all warm and fuzzy.
  20. Thanks for the leads - I'm going to order tomorrow. I'm sure they will make the car go faster
  21. I've been looking on line for trim rings. I never realized there were so many places that sod them. The problem is I'm scared that what they call 15" isn't going to fit my wheel. Is there another measurement that I need to be aware of? Some places say something about 1 3/4" but I'm not sure what that refers to. I've seen prices from $39 to $69 for either stainless or chrome. I just don't want to get stuck with something that doesn't fit. thanks
  22. I'm going to try to clean it up this week end. I'll take some before and after pix and try to figure out what's up. My wife bought a new washer and dryer so I've got a fresh supply of cardboard.
  23. I used to have a Triumph motorcycle. It leaked oil when it was just parked. It must be my karma or something because my 47 P15 is leaking some where around the differential. I really can't tell where it's coming from. I've checked and it is full. Could I have over filled it? I hope this isn't just a fact of life because it's messing up my garage floor.
  24. It was a bad day all around. It was going to rain so I put my car in the garage. I don't remember why now but I pulled the hood release - and the whole cable came out (that was unlucky) when I went to the front of the car the hood latch was open (very lucky) I'm not even sure how to open a hood without the cable. I'm glad I didn't have to find out.
