  2. When I had that issue it was caused by week springs on the breaker points---hook up a dwell meter and rev the engine, if the dwell changes with RPM it's probably the points/spring
  3. Brain fart--I should have typed "noise suppressor" --not spark suppressor...obviously you want a spark
  4. Resistor plug is the plug that is used when you have a radio--Autolite 306 and 303 are listed as resistor / spark suppressor plugs. Autolite 295 is the standard plug
  5. I have the ECI brakes on my '52; they work fine but if I had it to do over I'd go the RustyHope or Scarebird way. My only complaint with the ECI brakes is that they do not clear the standard rims on my P23, so the conversion costs about $300 more just to buy a new set of matched rims
  6. I used E-Z-boy for my interior 5 years ago; I was/am very happy with their product. I see, tho, that they have been bought out by another company

  17. For filling my transmission and diff: It holds about a pint of oil, so a couple of shots and the job is done: Lumax Suction gun--amazon has them
  18. Joe, Here's the name of the pump I use: Lumax LX-1185 Black 18 oz. Suction Gun with 12" Vinyl Hose ...I paid just under $12 for it two years ago
  19. Don, I just saw this posting--I don't usually check out this room of the forum. I did enjoy hangin' with you and seeing in person your blue Plymouth with the big 265 flat head and that beautiful Champion Radiator Just to clear things up--my car has a 1950 Dodge Power wagon 230 cu in. engine; rebuilt .030 over. Head has probably been shaved about .020 I'm guessing---compression is 120-140 psi. The transmission is a rebuilt '52 overdrive from the Plymouth guru George Asche. Things not original: 12 volts, ECI disc brakes, Mustang dual master cylinder, front Buckets/captain chairs ( I think they're from a Ford 350 van), offy intake manifold and dual B& B carbs, radio upgrade to modern stereo, new rear seats and door panels (EZBoy), Jeep console and Wheel Vintique HRR wheels I was planning to go to Port Huron but life happens-- I have a commitment on Friday evening so I can't make the festivities. However I am free most of Friday day, so I would enjoy convoying with you as far as Coldwater MI

  21. Larry, I expect my engine would clash with your exterior. PO had the engine just painted silver when the engine was rebuilt. I painted the head Hemi-Orange and most accessories gloss black; if I ever have the engine out of the car I will paint the block black.
  22. We tried to paint white walls on a friends car way back when (like 40 years ago). My memory was that the paint never really cured; it was always a bit sticky and attracted dirt like a magnet. Does the Krylon work reasonably. I like the Hub caps, they remind me of the Ben Hur chariot race
  23. I really like the look of the wire wheels--but know myself well enough to realize that I would never keep them clean
