  1. Mine 230 is .030 over, I'm sure it was bored just to clean it up--runs fine, uses very little oil but HP probably not noticable

  5. they are not spirol springs but stainless steel looking leaf springs--they are the same basic shape as the copper connector that goes from the pivot point to the coil connection
  6. they are 15x5--I also looked at their Smoothies (keep the brake dust off of the whitewalls) but they only came in a 15x5.5" and I'm not sure if they would clear the calipers without hitting the fender in tight turns
  7. I have the ECI conversion. The Wheels Vintique Hot Rod Rallye wheels work perfectly.
  8. Yep, did exactly this "dumb" thing and it idled and ran fine--until about 45mph and then lost all power

  12. Mine runs well at 4 BTDC--the head has been shaved about .015-.020
  13. I was a little surprised looking at the "Second Chance Garage" specs They have the Cylinder Head Torque listed at Lbs.Ft.: 90-95 My shop '52 shop manual says "65-70 ft-lbs" did the spec change for '53?

  15. I've had my P23 with overdrive up to 88 mph (GPS) and still accelerating--but I "chickened out" before finding her max speed

  23. It appears that the Old Diamond Backs that have no checking are bias belts--mine are radials could that be the reason my checked at in the rim area? Also I did not have a garage when I lived in Port Townsend WA 2008-2012 so maybe that's part of the problem

  25. I bought a pair of Diamond Backs in early 2008. I've used only scotch-brite and simple green to clean them. They have not yellowed or discolored at all but after 7 years and 15,000 miles they are checked. The checking started about 9 months ago--still look good at 10 ft.
