  6. bolted starter motor down, connected the cables direct to the starter, fully charged battery...parkplugs removed..said a prayer..and nothing! so, must be something inside the starter.. the only thing different is that I done is set the tappets and put oil in the engine..but I can turn the flywheel with a screwdriver... It used to be able to turn the engine over before I did the tappets and filled it with oil..... I did check the brushes and they looked ok to me...not sure about the "spring" ..
  7. engine turns over free.fully rebuild. Bench test ok, spins freely, use a 12 volt battery on a 6 volt unit. mabe I should indeed try better cable connection as I use starting leads.

  9. My stater motor is not turning my engine over. It seem to work when I take it out and use a battery to turn it freely but when I bolt it down it goes clank and nothing happens even when I use a 12 volt battery. How do I check it the thing is faulty?

  19. The silver one came out of my 1950 b2 Fargo, connected to a 218 longblock. the other is from a 1953 B2 which I stripped.
  20. I know, thats what I try to find out..what is it? and Can I use this in my B2B? Is this heavier Gearing?
  21. Well, thats the question I asked earlier..can colum changes have 4 speed tranny's? But I do think these are 3 speeds Both of these come out of B2B cloum shift..I am trying to make up my mind as which one to use..which one would be better? Both Cases are identical , the only difference is the brake set up one is 6 Inch.... the other is 7 Inch and the inside of the greaing set up
  22. I have 2 gearboxes, not sure what year but I think 1950 and 1953. There is a difference in the gearing and like to know what the difference means...one seem to have syncro stuff.. One has a 6 inch emergency brake set up the other is 7 Inch.. can I use either in my fargo?
