  6. Hi davin, Tomorrow I will take the top of to have a look..I still have another box but I would have to change the fork over as it has different gearing,
  7. Ok, Engine is RUNNING! Yeah... but the Gearbox is making a vibrating type noise when put into first. all other gears are great . Have the rear wheels of the ground and is ok to put through the gears, except the noise in first gear! The book says the first gear is the same as the reverse so why no noise in reverse and only in first? Any Adjustments? Can it be I have assembled the top wrong when putting the lid back on?
  8. as an expanelbeater we used to repair lots of tanks in the early 80,s. we would flash the tank with running water for a good halve hour and then use the airblower to dry out. we would then use a gas torch and very quickly put the open flame past the the filler hole..sometimes we would hear a 'fluff" sound (the residue of gas) and that was the sign she was safe to weld on. It is really no big deal to weld on a fuel tank as long as you are carefull..
  9. Hank, that is disgustingly cheap..$89 Bucks! Thats what it will cost me to fill up...

  14. My tyre is 6.50 x 16.....what would be the closest modern metric size be to that? I have read that wrong tyre size can trow the speedo out and or make steering hard.. really like a answer to this asap...
  15. Dave, why do you need an engineer report? If it is stock standard you should be able to get a blue slip and take it to the RTA?
  16. The only thing i can think of is that the Canadians had to be different from the USA build ones....I wonder if our ute bodies are a lot heavier than your pickup beds....BTW "pickup beds" would be used here as a "trailer"...
