  1. Spotted at the transmission shop today on a beautifully done 66 Ranchero. Mounting Flange:
  2. What about the MORONS who cut in front of you in the area you leave for the extra following distance and then the a$$hole slams on his brakes? The disc's sure as he!! compute THEN!!!!!! If the roads were empty or full of professional drivers, then maybe the disc's are not needed. Cell-phone yakking daydreaming MORONS are a fact of life and to me the disc's will give me the extra bit of safety that I need these days sharing the road with MORONS.
  3. Interesting. I have dealt with Ply-Do a few times and had good service each time. You have to remember that it is a small one man business. His products are first rate in my experience.
  4. John, those are from a Pilothouse. I had the same idea and have them here from a forum member for my Chrysler. Great minds think alike!!
  5. My mother and sister in a roadside picnic hut on the way to Fairmont Hot Springs for holidays in about 1966. Baby brother and middle sister in Drumheller Alberta about 1966. The paint on that car was amazing. It was never repainted, 20 foot deep shine even on the day it went to the crusher The Chrysler WINDSOR at Fairmont Hot Springs in 1956 My cousins in Fairmont Hot Springs 1956 Cousins at Fairmont Hot Springs in 1956 An artsy fartsy shot in Calgary in 1972 There are more old pics if interested. As I said, this car has gone to it's maker but will be recreated soon.
  6. Unfortunately, this particular car rusted away to nothing and had to be scrapped in 1983 The one I have now will be a clone of the one pictured. I have many more pictures of this car which was a Windsor and my daily driver for many years. When I was 17, my buddy and I piled in it with $35 bucks between us and drove it 1000 miles from Calgary to Winnipeg. It was to be a 2 week holiday for me (his family lived there having moved from Calgary a few years earlier). I ended up getting a great job, girlfriend, and stayed for 3 years. Then drove the old Windsor home again. I have pics taken of it in '56/7 when my Uncle owned it. My mother was driven to the hospital in it to give birth to...me. My youngest brother was driven home from the hospital in it. The car was in the background of two families lives from new to 1983. The current '49 is a Royal. The only difference was the Royal had the Fluid Coupling and 3 speed standard and the Windsor had the M6. I did keep the sunvisor, grille guard, stainless window vents from the Windsor BUT they were all stolen in 1985 when the truck they were stored in was stolen
  7. This pic of my 1949 Chrysler WINDSOR was taken the same year that my current '49 Chrysler ROYAL was parked because of a broken valve. It sat until 2003.
  8. For sure a 3 dressed up as a 9. Done to flip and make cash and many corners cut. Price is way out of line but that doesn't mean it won't sell.
  9. Congrats!!! Now you have to request it? Here they just send the cheque with the notice...like winning the lottery! $93.82 is about a tank of gas up here, so not too bad at all.
  10. That thing jumped right up on that ol' trailer and just wouldn't get off??? Hate it when that happens!!! (Don't feed it or you're really in trouble) Seriously, they both look good Mommas boy and the rebel.
  11. Yup, that shine is purdy:D
  12. "Rusty Hope but I hear that you have to drill your steering knuckles and once you do that you can't go back to drums. What I want to do is keep this car where I can put it all back to original" Going back to original with Charlie's kit is simple because you will be using Plymouth spindles for his kit. That leaves your original Chrysler spindles untouched. I have a '49 Chrysler and am using Charlies kit. He supplied the Plymouth spindles to which his kit bolts. And they were already drilled and tapped. Talk about service
  13. Maybe that road dust you were mentioning in the other thread is acting as an abrasive and sanding the pads down?
  14. Fred, that's ugly. We just have wall to wall construction detours, so if it doesn't move, they pave it!! Someone here mentioned that a coat of POR15 on the underside of a lawnmower stops grass from sticking...I wonder if it would stop or reduce that stuff from sticking?
  15. Half outside the door:eek:
  16. Well, I talked to my brother in law the electrical contractor and he is going to install a key operated switch accessible from outside to turn the power to the opener on and off. Seems to be the best solution for the least money. One more step to open/close the door, but I won't be able to drive off and leave the door open if that's what I did I have also replaced the ancient opener with a digital one
  17. Dave, the truck looks great!!! How about the readers digest version of the process that finally worked for you? I'm not sure I would do it on my Chrysler because of arthritis in my hands. After not too much sanding they cramp up a get quite painful, so lots of sanding would be a problem. Thanks!! Pat
  18. Some more info and some pics of the Brightside Marine approach. Pretty gutsy to use black, but I'm impressed. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=456055
  19. Or get the step-son to do it for you for letting him have his doghouse blocking the way
  20. The repair looks well done...should work out well for you. My Chrysler has a similar rustout but on the outside: I was lucky in that my rockers are still solid in that area even inside.
  21. "Hey Rockie, Watch me pull a rabbit outa my hat!!!" "Again!?" One of my favorite lines. I thought William (Cannon) Conrad was the narrator?
  22. Greg, not my cuppa either, but sure looks like the typical east coast custom of the 50's.
  23. As much as I'm more a street rodder, that interior sure brings back memories. Thanks alot for posting the pics!
  24. Might be cheaper to just take some measurements and start from scratch. Norm does it with furniture all the time...can't be that hard.
  25. Thanks, Greg. That's nice. Keeps my spirits up as I try to round up some cash. Funny how folks are available when they borrow, but are quite busy at payback time. Funny as a sore teat ;(
