  2. Thanks Mark. I wonder where the 45" gauge came from.
  3. Love the color. The guy that painted mine took it upon himself to add some black to the paint. ?
  4. I know the V-8's were offered in the cars. My dad had a '53 Coronet with the Hemi. Don't clip the temp gauge! If it's intact, chances are it's still good. Maybe the 45" gauges are for the big trucks? Semi's?
  5. Interesting. I have a complete original gauge with the C-H face that's about 45" long. Standard cab measurement is about 31". Thanks Mark.
  6. Yes, they did use the relative scale in the C series trucks. However, the C series went back to the 4 across style gauge housing that the B1 and B2 trucks used. These gauges won't fit that style housing. They will only fit '51-'53 two over two housings. They won' fit the pre '48 housing either.
  7. Also. In 1953 did Dodge switch to a temp gauge face that said C or H instead of the numbers?
  8. How long is the tube for the temp gauge? From the large gland nut to the back of the temp gauge. Thanks!

  10. '52 and newer 4 speeds are synchro'd in 3 and 4.
  11. Keep the 230, add some go-fast stuff to it. Later add the Cherokee rear axle and/or the 5 speed. I drove my '49 all over northern Ca with the 4 speed, 218 and a 3:23 rear axle out of a Charger. Drove it from Susanville to Bishop one year for Mules Days. ?
  12. Spot on!
  13. Passenger side was NOS. Looked just like the one Wally posted.
  14. No!! Cheeseburger only!
  15. Cool! Why the aftermarket temp gauge?
  16. Hi John! GE 51 or 55 fit the gauge clusters or speedo's Ebay has both bulbs.

  18. Try posting a wanted ad in the classifieds here.
  19. Nope, never done it. Would like to someday.
  20. Front axle out of a 2wd XJ would cure the brake problem and keep the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.
  21. My '49 had piping between the rear fenders and bed.
