  1. That's alright. I guess I did make a few more comments about yellow and low-side beds at the BBQ...
  2. Now, Reg... As I explained at the BBQ, I wasn't referring to your truck with my "butt-ugly" comment. I was referring to the first truck in that string - the one with the black low-side box. For thde benefit of those not privy to our conversation (and my apparently feeble and unsuccessful attempt at an apology), I thought the black color on the low-side box against the cab color accentuated the size difference and magnified the pilot-house style way out of proportion. My opinion is that the high-side box nicely balances out the very tall cab design of these trucks. So there...
  3. I think you can get new reproductions from Vintage Power Wagon.
  4. Great shots, Bob. I agree - a good time was had by all. I look forward to next year and even more trucks...
  5. As far as I know it's original. It was pretty straight to begin with and, yes, I had a great body man. His real work, though, was on the rear fenders - they were pretty dinged up.
  6. I'm still amazed Charlie was able to wedge that thing in there without cutting anything...
  7. What are you driving down to Tim's?
  8. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c141/shephatchery/lettering.jpg Here it is... a little dirty.
  9. I had a pin-stripe guy do mine. I figured their hands are steadier than mine. I did the silver color and it turned out rally nice. I think it looks better than white...
  10. I'll be there. I also got in touch with Charlie and he'll be there (he's the guy with the red and white hemi-powered '51. Also, I dropped a flyer off at Elk Grove Radial Tire Service. John, the owner, has a B3C flatbed. Fianlly, I'm trying to get my neighbor to come. He just finished a '48 Ford flatbed and has several old Dodges sittin' around his place.
  11. The first one, Reg...
  12. That is one butt-ugly truck! It almost looks like he's towing a trailer.
  13. If you took it to a show you'd be the only one there in a Dodge. And then someone would want ot know if it was a Studebaker or an International...
  14. This is interesting. This truck has the exact same wood rails as the truck that went for $40,700 in January BJ auction.
  15. 9am? Jeez! You serving breakfast? I never heard of a 9am BBQ...
  16. I'll be there by 10am. Is that early enough?
  17. Hey! The current issue of Hemmings shows a 53 Dodge truck that went for $40,700 at Barrett-Jackson in January. Holy crap!
  18. I can come by early on the 25th and help set up if you need help.
  19. James, You should consider driving over to Tim's on the 25th of April for the 2nd Annual Pilothouse BBQ. I'd like to see your OD setup. I've got a Fluid Drive 3-speed in my '50 truck that I'd like to mate to an OD.
  20. I put mine in a baggie with some Amour All and left in the hot sun all day. After that they went on slicker 'n snot on a doorknob...
  21. It's a second series then.
  22. If the second series looks like a '50 then this is a first series. It has the ribbed bumpers...
  23. Regarding this car, what's the parts availability, particularly body panels. Does anyone make reproduction/replacement rocker panels, floorboards, trunck floors, etc.? What about trim pieces? How 'bout the top bows and other pieces?
  24. I'd like to have a clock. What can I expect to pay for one?
