  1. I remember that pic with Don and Norm, (the late Norm Milliner "Norm's Coupe".) Taken in Murfreesboro, TN, Don's home town at the time. He later took us for a ride in his Plym. Good times.
  2. I think he wanted something like $150 or some such. Should have got the price tag in the pic.
  3. Don --- I did not smell any chocolate last year at the meet grounds. Parking is still on grass, but the show field has pretty much been all paved.
  4. Some old Mopar scale models seen...... I don't recall who was selling them and have no interest in any of the above stuff. **That reddish brown car above the 1950 Plym is the Chrysler turbo car.
  5. Hmmmm.....a graining kit......pretty cool..... Arm rest covers.... MoPar Autolite spark plugs The custom curb signal The glass cleaner and chrome protector.....
  6. Looking at my notes from last yr .. some vendor with Mopar parts from 1936 to 70 (maybe Ed) was at space C3E 25-29 in the chocolate field north, near light post #29, Also another vendor of 1930 to 48 Plymouth parts was at space CX65-72 by light post #70......chocolate south. Otherwise -- look everywhere you go cause I found miscellaneous things at vendors who basically had no Plymouth stuff.
  7. I spoke two nights ago with old Mopar vendor Ed Spiegel who says they are going to be at Hershey. He says they are going to rustle up some new and different parts to bring with them....so will be going thru their warehouse. His space address should be listed in the official booklet produced by the swap meet management. If you need new door sill step plate rubbers .... the fellow who designed them and has them made says he will be there. Last year he was back by a fence, but I can't recall for sure -- maybe the green field.
  8. Hmmmm.....that's a new one on me. Pretty neat deal. Ranks right up there with the build sheet in the seatback or wherever. I suppose the same information would be found in the Repair Manual??
  9. Nice Larry. Looking real good. I'm sure he will like it.
  10. I have been looking at 215-75R15 radial wide whites at the Carlisle swap meet. Both Coker and Universal Tire have truckload displays with many varieties of tires on hand. I like the B F Goodrich 2 1/2 inch white stripe......being sold by Coker for about $258 each rather than their Coker Classic for about $209. (Several years ago I bought some bias ply Coker Classics, which began bleeding brown thru the whitewall. Traded them back to the sub jobber from whom I got them for Firestone branded tire and have had no problem with anything with them.) Have considered the new radial www tire that is narrow and looks like a bias ply tire.....but can't decide if it will improve the road handling as well as the wider tread tire. So, I think I will get the wider tire even though it doesn't look as original as others. It has a more "all season" tread design....but am wanting the better handling qualities. Ah well.......
  11. I had the pleasure of meeting and visiting with Mr. Wayne Varner, otherwise known as Oldguy48. Wayne, who lives about 90 miles North of Carlisle, was accompanied by his son-in-law who was looking for parts for a project truck. As with many of us, Wayne said he didn't have a pressing need for any parts for his P15 four door....but he would probably end up with something related to take home. He was telling me about how he re-wired his Plymouth in a very unique way. Will have to look up some of his pics about that as I apparently missed it. I managed to find a few small car-related items before the rain returned at about 4 pm. Still have two more days, so hoping for some amount of decent weather. Nice meeting you, Wayne.
  12. Is the poster blonde????
  13. Hopefully the rain will stop or at least happen a bit less. I suppose it could very well affect the number of vendors there. Since we came about 1200 miles - we will see how it goes.
  14. Wayfarer.....while looking up some info on the carlisle event, i saw an auction report on hershey and some othef auctions. I was using a header like "carlisle fairgrounds" and "fall carlisle". Those reports were down the list a ways. Hope this helps.
  15. Is any of the Carlisle swap indoors?
  16. Yep. Raining now --- on Bluegrass Parkway near Lexington.
  17. Spent the night in Elizabethtown, KY.....on the road to the Fall swap meet at Carlisle, PA. With friend Nils, who went with me to Hershey last year. Could not make Hershey this time due to some conflicting events at home. Anyone here attending Carlisle this year? Bob
  18. Don double stacked them to let in enough air. One was a bit skimpy.
  19. Neil is "seaplym" on eBay.
  20. Interesting so far......
  21. Is there much, if any, difference between braided, or stranded, or whatever you call a wire with several small strands---- in electrical capacity and transmission ability.....compared to a single strand, heavier piece of wire? Hopefully that question makes sense. Am asking, of course, in regard to our old cars. I noticed that a lot (or maybe all) the wiring on my P15 is the "braided" or "stranded" type. Looking at a wiring diagram for a 1949 model Plymouth, it says wiring to dash illuminating bulbs is 16 gauge. It does not list wire gauges on my P15 manual diagram. I'm guessing that the new wires I installed for my dash lights are less than 16 ga..........so thinking of finding some new, clearly marked 16 ga wire to re-do them. And probably some other items that I've replaced along the way. I really should get a new wiring harness and call it good...... My car is still 6 volt. What might your thoughts be on this matter? Thanks.
  22. Looks interesting........
  23. Is the stud portion of the clip offset toward the top or bottom of the clip, or is it centered? (On a P15 front fender trim, the stud is off-centered.) If you shop around on websites that sell trim clips for late model cars, you can sometimes find a new style substitute clip.......some of which you trim off some of the backing material to make it the right width and configuration needed. I found a few clips from a fellow at Hershey last year, but I would have to look for his name. He was mainly a Chevy guy with a few Mopar clips. Have you watched for them on eBay?
  24. Saw this car a few years ago sitting at a garage south of here....and it was for sale at the time. It is a 1951 Desoto with a Plymouth body.....they said the late owner had brought it home from Japan after his tour of duty there. Apparently it had been sitting for several years---and was not in the best condition. The shop owner later said no one purchased the car and the owner's family took it back home.
