  1. Just North of Pittsburgh, PA.
  2. The other photos are kinda the same as the ones now attached...I would still be happy to post them if you guys feel they should be. BTW. The lower cushion, on the front seat (where your butt would sit) is in GREAT shape. I forgot how nice it was. I'll try to attach a photo of this part of the seat below. Thanks again for your interests! Hope to find these a good home. I really do not know what to ask for these seats. I paid $100.00 for them, I think, so many years ago when I still had my P-15... Looking for reasonable offers. Thanks.
  3. Just a couple more. Thank you.
  4. Hi All. Thanks to all that replied to this post, and to those that sent P.M.'s. I was able this morning to unwrap these seats, and take about 20 photos of them. ( I love the smell of Mohair in the morning!!!) They are as I stored them some 20 years ago, and the fellow that had them before me for over 10 years. No, not perfect, but as you will see pretty darn nice!!! The biggest issue with them looks to be in the red, fake like leather material that is on the lower section of the bottom of the back seat. That stuff got kinda brittle over the past 65 years. It is still there, for a pattern though. I took some photos of the original tags, still in place from the day they were made, way back on 8-28-1947 !!! The seats will come with all the seat rails and mounting frames. The seat adjusting cables and spring are all there, and in fine working condition. Even the Ash Receiver, on the back of the front seat is 100% and sports the original knob and woodgrained paint. All you will need is a good cleaning (a bit dusty, even though they were wrapped tight), and the mounting bolts. I can not seem to locate them. In other words, they are "Good to go!" I will place (I hope) a few photos on this page. As I said, I have I think 17 of them, and will send these directly to anyone that P. M.'s me for them. Maybe, one of you computer "guru's " would be so kind as to offer to list them on this page? I do not have a URL (I think that is what it is called) to be able to post these in a proper fashion. Thanks again for allowing me to post in this section of the forum. I appreciate it. Cheers!
  5. Well, you know how it goes... I took quite a few photos before I wrapped them for storage, and do you think I can now find them! Looks as if I will have to drag them out, and take some new ones here hopefully, over this weekend.
  6. Hey folks. I hope that you all do not mind if I may bend the rules a tad bit, and put this request on this page, and not the classified page. If this is not acceptable, please advise, and I will remove it. I just wanted to get this word out quicker, since I must move these seats pretty quickly. Thanks. I need to move out, an original front, and rear seat for/from an original, P-15 Plymouth, four door sedan. I have had these seats in my rodent free garage for many years, and quite frankly, need to get them to a home so that I can use the space for a new coming car in the Spring. They sport the original, MoPar pin striped mohair fabric, that really is in quite good shape! Seat frames and hardware all all there too. I'm in Pennsylvania, just above Pittsburgh. Pick-up would be the best method of transportation, because I believe shipping would be pretty expensive. I'm open for ideas though. These are really quite nice seats. Any offer will be considered. I would hate to have to junk them! Thanks again guys.
  7. Just a couple of photos of a few of the items I have kick'n around. I'll see if I can get these to upload on this site...
  8. Had a 37 Plymouth hood ornament done by Nu-Chrome. The salesman that has a booth/spot at the AACA Hershey Meet every year told me that the pitting, that was not greatly spread over the part, would be "no problem!" I paid the man half of the quoted cost, and he stated that it would be about a 60 day turn-around. I agreed to the project and walked away happy. Three months passed, and I was writing a new year on my checks, so I thought that I best check in on the progress. Once reaching the salesman that took my order, he stated that the overwhelming amount of orders gathered from the 4 day event has set the finish time for my ornament behind schedule. New date was an additional 6 weeks... Well, you guessed it, two months came and went and not a peep from the shop. Another phone call only brought further disappointments... Finally, in JUNE of the following year, (8 months later) I receive a call that my ornament is done! Hurray!!! Quickly, I sent the second half of my payment, to expedite it's return. Upon receiving the ornament disappointment set in. There were grind marks, and sags in the pot metal. Basically, a shadow of what once was a decent hood ornament. Calling them on it, they told me they did the best they could do with the part, and that I should be happy with the work and time they put into it.... RIGHT.....I put the ornament in a box, and basically forgot about this experience for several years. One day, looking though some "stuff" I came upon that expensive blob of shiny nothingness, and it simply happened to fall a week or so before the next AACA Hershey Meet. So, I took it with me. Upon finding the gentleman that I had dealt with several years prior, I asked him about this hood ornament, I asked if he could help me "restore" it? Yikes, he replied! what happened to it?!!! Well, needless to say, I was able to tell my story, once again to him, now in front of a small crowd of people interested in his service... SWEEEET!!!
  9. I purchased a "set" of 4 pieces to correctly do four fenders on a 41 Plymouth from a "popular" vendor in Mass. The four pieces were shipped to me, taped to a 2 X 4. ($) This actually was not the problem, they arrived in decent shape. The problem lied with the length of the stainless for the rear fenders! They both were about 5 inches too short! Cost of the return, plus all the hassles with the vendor left me with short welt, and a search for a vendor at the Hershey Swap Meet. Please, get a measurement of how long the welt is that you are buying, and confirm this length with the seller BEFORE your purchase.
  10. You may wish to address your wishes in the "Car Parts Wanted" section of the forum. Is that not what it is there for?
  11. Hey Mick, If you post a photo of the clips you are in search of, I may be able to help! I have a bunch of old MoPar original clips, and only know what several styles actually are soppose to fit.
  12. Hello All, As I'm sure with a lot of you, there simply is not enough room in the garage for all the "toys". Well, I am once again faced with this delemma. I believe I should be able to slide my cars real close together by using those fancy car "skates" or car "dollies". I will be rolling the skates on smooth concreate, so I am hoping that I will have limited troubles (I hope!). Question to you all. I know that like with everything else, there are cheap items, and there are better, and the best! What brand/type have you guys used? Are you happy with them? What kind should I stay away from? Should I invest in the style that has it's own hydraulics?($) Obviously, I am attempting to head off any problems before I order the wrong kind, and once again kicking myself! Thanks guys~
  13. I like post 24 of this thread. I am simply curious what Mike's car looks like! It must be great and I doupt that I will ever have the opertunity to view it in person. As I stated, I tried to "do my homework" to look up prior listings, so not to repeat. With only 90 postings by myself in the past 5 years, I do not feel I have over stepped my bandwidth bounds. I'll be back to simply watching this forum, and keeping information, and my thoughts once again to myself. I long for the days of the "old" forum. Anyone remember? I really, and truely did not mean to put a stick to the bee hive.
  14. Yo Mike! Are you back from vacation yet? Still buggin' ya for some photos!
  15. Mike, Still looking for those photos!
  16. Mike, I would LOVE to see some photos of the progress made on your car. Can you post them? If you have done this already, sorry, I tried to find them in the past postings but could not before I posted this request. Thank you!!!
  17. If anyone is interested in a set of those above mirrors, Jay Fisher, the founding member of the P.O.C. makes perfect, even better than perfect replicas mirrors, with the attaching hardware. I bought a set from him 20+ years ago, and they still look as if they were made yesterday! HE is a Gentleman, and a man of true integrity too...
  18. They will have to do a bit of waiting before they can even get to those cars. Currently, everything is buried under a foot of snow and an inch of ice! Not the best weather to be pulling parts.
  19. Try Lindsay McConnell. He had a NOS one not too long ago. Do not know his email address, and can't find his phone number, but I know that he has posted conversation on the P.O.C. Forum site...
  20. Theory #2 You can NEVER lock your keys in the car!
  21. Hey Guys, Thanks for the wonderful information! I never really paid too much attention to the old Dodges, simply because I never owned one. The wheel base variations are quite interesting! Knowing only slightly more about Plymouth, than Dodge I am amazed at what was out there at that time. Just for my own curiousity, did they supply a variety of trannys too? Gotta love the old cars.
  22. Thank you. I know, to venture a price is kinda hard. I just told him I would try for him. A "deal" is in the eyes of the one who buys...But any opinions are still welcomed for me to relay to him.
  23. Thanks Shel_bizzy48. So, what would you call a 50 Wayfarer? a D30? sorry for being a bit dence, but I'm used to the Plymouth, not the Dodge. Also, would you care to add what a worth would be? Just very curious. As I said, this car will not end up on the net, or the "bay", but on a used car lot. Thanks again for your responce.
  24. Hello Folks! O.K., as they say, there are no dumb questions, so I will now test that quote. This is a multiple question, so maybe I'll start here. 1. In 1950, did Dodge make the Wayfarer model? Was this to be titled a D34? 2. If in fact the State title (Pennsylvania) was naming this 1950 Dodge as a "Wayfarer" is this a problem? From what I remember, the Wayfarer was named as one of the models starting in 1951 a long with the Meadowbrook, and the Custon Coronet. This Wayfarer would also be considered being a D41 and the other two being a D42. Just in case, this is a stock 6 cylinder car, not a stock 8 (if even possible). O.K., now onto the second part of this question. The fellow I know that is buying this car is an owner of a car lot. He will be buying this car to re-sell. Honestly, I do not know what he is paying for the car, nor did I ask. The question asked of me, by him was about the "worth" of this 1950 (Wayfarer?) as a re-sale car. Any input??? It is a solid, two door sedan, all stock. A bit cheesy on the passenger floor, but all other panels are solid. Still has a "shine" to the paint. I am not real sure what the condition is of the interior, but I assume that it has the typical issues that can be expected. Nothing above or beyond that. New brakes, and it will "go down the road, and stop". I really appreciate any input, and opinions from everyone, no matter what yours may be. Thank you all for your time, and replies.
