  1. Thanks to all three of you for your help.
  2. It's been a long time since I've posted anything on the forum but I have a question regarding the location of the oil lines going to the filter canister. My son took them apart and then is questioning if he marked them right. I have hoses on my '52 truck so I can't match them up like if they had been steel line. The form link below discussed what I'm looking for but there isn't a general consensus. The inlet is at the top of the canister and the outlet is at the bottom. Is the top hole on the block always the pressure? If so, then I'll just hook it up to the top inlet on my canister. This was a long way around but any help would be appreciated. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=9905&highlight=oil+port
  3. I am listening to Pandora right now. It's part of my internet package. Nothing quite like Maynard Ferguson-type jazz as you're surfing the web. Too bad he died a couple of years ago.
  4. That was absolutely too cool!!! Just to have it as a sculpture would be enough for me.
  5. Okay. Thanks.
  6. So, back to the Photobucket discussion and the option to set up a website of your own. Are you still able to store photos on a website that you don't want to share with people? I have a lot of photos I've collected and am afraid one day Photobucket will say, OOPS, they have to go!! Thanks.
  7. The bumper brackets look angled down to give room to dump and the bumper is set out to allow for dumping between the bumper and the box. It looks like they added a piece to the original front panel to the sides would be a uniform height.
  8. There is a guy that has a Pilothouse and pushes sprint cars at Knoxville Speedway in Iowa. It's been a couple years since I've been down there but he would drive around the track to pack it after the water truck had been out. It was fun watching the 2 wd truck slip and slide while being passed by the newer trucks with 4wd. He just kept his momentum up and did just fine.
  9. Your son needs a promoted to VP of Troubleshooting.
  10. I like how you mounted your extra gauges where the speakers used to be.
  11. Welcome aboard Stef!! We're always interested in pictures of peoples projects. There's a great group of people here to answer your questions.
  12. That's a nice menagerie!!! I'm sure you'll have them all ready to go by next summer. lol
  13. Thanks for the update Lee. I just forwarded the information along to my Dad since I grew up about 40 miles from Spencer. That's going to be some kind of sale!!!
  14. Very nice indeed.
  15. Dang, my mind just left again. You might try that Big Truck club that I can't think of now (it'll be obvious when someone posts the name) that's out of Kansas City. They probably have more members with your size of truck.
  16. Absolutely wonderful pictures!!! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I had my rear brakes relined at a brake store in Des Moines for less than $50.00. No core charge because you're giving them your original shoes and you can inspect them when you pick them up in case there's an issue. They've been in business for years. Of course you'd have freight on top of it.
  18. I went to my favorite parts store and got an o-ring to fit the plug. It originally had a cork gasket, which surprised me. I've never given it a thought about cork to seal gas from leaking.
  19. Three days before the big parade I'm supposed to be in and the gas tank is leaking. I just drained the gas out and the problem appears that the o-ring gasket to the bung plug on the bottom of the tank is just dried out. Everything else looks good. Has anyone replaced the o-ring gasket that goes on the plug? Help!! Hee, hee!! Seriously though, I do need any information quick if someone knows. Otherwise I'll just guess at the parts store tomorrow. I'm guessing it has to stick a little above the plug so that when it's tightened down it'll seal correctly. Thanks.
  20. I've had my '52 beginning in approximately 1973. I worked on it, hauled stuff in it and drove it regularly until the mid-80's when I sold it to my little brother. He had it repainted and since then it doesn't haul cargo of any kind. My wife bought it back for me a couple of years ago and I fix on it when I have the money. I use it for parades, fun rides around town and Cruise Ins. I was actually influenced by an early '50's Chevy 1/2 ton that would come into my dad's shop periodically to be worked on. It belonged to a family of single brothers and sisters who, in order to keep the farm, were never to marry. They kept their stuff very nice and I just loved it when the truck came in. One day my dad tells me he knows where there is a Dodge we can get for $50.00 but I have to scoop it out of a snow drift. I glady grabbed the shovel and have been hooked ever since. 48dodger, could you put the names with the mugs in the line-up so we know who is who? LOL
  21. I'd like to try that too, but have the same issue of bones and muscles that don't cooperate.
  22. Well, it won't cost much to try an o-ring and see if it does the trick. I don't know if the master cylinder is leaking or it's the oil from the filter can above it.
  23. From the picture in the parts manual it looks like I loosen the bolts as you've said and then I turn the shaft clockwise that holds the clutch fork to get the throwout bearing away from the forks of the pressure plate. Am I close?
  24. I found the view (I think) for the clutch linkage on page 45 of the illustrations section of the manual in the member's knowledge. Are there any instructions that go along with pictures? I only have to let the clutch out a very small amount before I'm on my way. I don't know if the pedal needs adjusted or the clutch plate needs replaced. Thanks.
  25. dodgepu1946, It's interesting you mention brakes. I drove the truck after work to a Cruise In at a local gas station (about 5 miles one way). It is amazing how good of a brake pedal you have when all 4 wheels are intact!!! There's no more pumping and then hoping it stops okay.
